Small molecule splicing modulators that disrupt O-GlcNAc homeostasis - Nature Communications Authors report drug repurposing screens against O-GlcNAc cycling enzymes, finding kinase inhibitors that act as splicing modulators to disrupt O-GlcNAc homeostasis and downregulate OGT and OGA. These ...

Roses are red, GlcNAc is blue, sugar is sweet, and we want YOU to read our latest in @natcomms.nature.com — where we identify small-molecules that disrupt OGlcNAc homeostasis via RNA splicing. Congrats Steven (@scheng23.bsky.social) and all the authors! 🟦🍭❤️ www.nature.com/articles/s41...

While allostery is biochemical cooperation, this was an epitome of scientific collaboration💙. We'd like to thank our collaborators at GSK and the Lander Lab at Scripps, without whom this work would not have been possible 💙💐🤝

PCMT1 generates the C-terminal cyclic imide degron on CRBN substrates - Nature Chemical Biology The enzyme PCMT1 was found to install a C-terminal cyclic imide modification on proteins that marks them for degradation by CRBN, uncovering a conserved protein turnover pathway with implications in m...

Last paper post of the year!

Amazing @natchembio.nature.com paper by @thewoolab.bsky.social. PCMT1 installs cyclic imides at the C-terminus of proteins via SAM-dependent methyl ester formation, which then leads to degradation using cereblon.
