Once upon a time I also got tired of drawing robots and spaceships. So I drew Battle Beasts instead. They’re an old toy line … and drawing all 76 of them with their mix of animal and armor really was super fun. Plus the cartoonish proportions was a nice change.

Blast Processing kicks in, 68 assembly for the Line and Triangle Fills .
25-33 % speedups vs C = more Triangles & Lines at the same framerate .
Prior C code was surprisingly good. Took real effort to get more speed.
Focussing on render speed for now over 3d effect.

A tip for anyone struggling in Road Fighter, you can use the Konami code on the title screen at "press start" to get unlimited fuel (still lose fuel when crashing).
You will hear a sound if it worked. 🆗

The hummingbirds are migrating back to my area and are reportedly as far north as Pennsylvania 👴🏻
Made a scroller demo for the Sega MasterSystem / MK3, using devkitsms. Has a fixed HUD bar using an interrupt.
Supports maps of any width, with a maximum of 192px/24 tiles high, so you've got a bit of wiggle.
I'll opensource it ... soon.
Went to #PAXeast on Thursday. My first and probably last time. It was an exploratory visit to see if it was a good place to advertise Gilgamech.
Not much retro there. A lot of people were really enjoying the show, but it’s not for me 🤷♂️
Feeling the crunch with #PAXeast happening in just a couple of days.
I have a list of things to fix/change for #Gilgamech before PAX, but I just got a big freelancer job and lost my free time.
A true happy/sad conflict of emotions. Gotta pay the bills first, indie game dev second 😭
