It was (finally) clear today on my way home!

#hfxws Sidewalks are mostly fine but spots are unexpectedly slippery. We had two falls on the walk to school, one in the middle of the street while crossing.
While you wait. Only ever dropped off and picked up when we had several pairs and it was busy. But that was still less than an hour.

I saw city staff there this morning at 9 AM looking at the bike lane. Thanks for reporting this.
I had the opportunity to present to Transportation Standing Committee on behalf of #KidicalMassHfx today, about our "All Ages and Abilities" bike network. You can watch the presentation here. It was positively received and the outcome is a staff report on our asks. www.youtube.com/live/i3s1YGo...
Thank you! The bike valet was much appreciated and super convenient for our family this morning.
Two blue electric bikes that are part of a shared bike program sitting near the Halifax Public Gardens. It is a sunny day with a flower bed of yellow tulips and the Public Gardens gates in the background.
Today’s #BikeJoy: Seeing another
parent bike to school with their kid and hearing we inspired them to try it! Then seeing some of the first e-bikes as part of the #Halifax shared micromobility pilot program.
Two children on the floor colouring with crayons in a colouring book with pictures of bikes.
Prizes from #KidicalMassHfx are always a hit in our house! A similar situation happened today here, with siblings colouring together in the colouring book won in the prize draw. Thanks to the organizers, volunteers, and sponsors!

This response from Dr. Graham Gagnon at Dalhousie in July 2024, when the same thing happened, helped me understand the risk. www.cbc.ca/player/play/...
8 kids and 5 grown-ups on the St. Cat’s #BikeBus today! It was our best turnout yet — and my own kiddo’s first time riding to school on two wheels! One tree-trimming worker took it upon himself to watch/direct traffic when they saw us coming. Lots of folks 😊 and 👋 from the sidewalk.

This change came after I emailed her for clarification and more details. Here’s the email so you can form your own opinion…

Our little was so excited to get this #KidicalMassHFX prize! A quality bike bell and everything included to make it their own. Fantastic idea!
Thank you to all who help organize and make these events possible. Tonight I asked our 3 year old (that went 2 km on her Strider) what her favourite part of the bike ride was and her response was “All of it!”
This is awesome! I’d love the details and we will try to join some week.
