A ★★★★ review of Critters 2 (1988) didn’t realize this would have been the perfect Easter-themed horror movie.  been a little too long since i watched the first Critters i think. i know i was really attached to the family, but i did no...

66. watched Critters 2. still goofy, still fun.

this franchise definitely doesn’t live up to its full potential, but i can’t deny that it has enough heart to make up for it. loved this even more than the first.

A ★★★ review of The Night Owl (2005) i’d read the bible if it turned me into Lilith and kickstarted the apocalypse; sign me the fuck up.  another truly no budget film from the Tomb of Terrors set, but for what it’s worth this is a little...

65. watched The Night Owl. been watching too many good movies lately and had to switch it up.

this has some fun ideas though. still not great, but a minor gem of SOV trash

A ★★★★★ review of Mirror (1975) memories collapsing on memories, recollected and reshaped in the image of loved ones. dreams of a childhood home; of happiness. a life touched by war and guilt structured into poetry. i really don’t k...

64. watched Mirror.

squashed my beef with Tarkovsky, but i’m too exhausted to have actual thoughts on this right now. it is an absolute masterpiece though. pure mesmerizing poetry.

63. watched Call Me by Your Name.

been putting off watching this very controversial film for way too long, so i finally bit the bullet. it’s surprisingly tender and bittersweet. i like the message at its core, but it still doesn’t click with me like it does for a lot of people.

A ★★★★★ review of Victim (1961) This review may contain spoilers. Visit the page to bypass this warning and read the review.

62. watched Victim, a profoundly bold and important film for the time period it was released. and one that’s still, devastatingly, timely today.

i’m just in awe at how well the subject matter is handled, how well this is written, and how this even got made in the first place.

like i don’t think my attention span is that cooked yet.

i guess it’s just because i know i’ll get hyperfixated on it and not be able to consume any other media besides that for weeks. that is such a daunting commitment despite knowing i’ll enjoy it.

Three images of isabelle as anna next to each other; leftmost is a bust of her bleeding out of her mouth, the middle is her mid-breakdown, and the third on the right is also mid breakdown. She thrashes about with a grocery bag.

A ★★★★ review of Your Monster (2024) This review may contain spoilers. Visit the page to bypass this warning and read the review.

59. watched Your Monster, a really fun, cute monster-fucker movie that’s actually about female rage after getting fucked over by life & a really shitty ex.

i wish it had made some different choices, especially with the ending, but i can’t deny how much i still love it regardless.

The Sutter Cane book covers that were done by Shannon Shea while working for KNB EFX on In The Mouth of Madness (1994)

I contacted Shea the other week and he said the other book covers were done 'by someone on the production in Canada'. All the artworks are currently owned by John Carpenter.

A ★★★★½ review of Two Evil Eyes (1990) two incredible Edgar Allen Poe adaptations by two of my favorite directors. both parts of the film absolutely stand on their own, so it just felt like a neat double feature. wasn’t sure about the them...

58. watched Two Evil Eyes, two 60 minute Poe adaptations directed by Romero and Argento!

might be in the minority for thinking Romero’s half is stronger, but Argento’s take on Black Cat is wild for sure. a lot of fun to be had here and the collab is just iconic.
