LancsTV coverage is better those counties which use their own inane commentators rather than the professional BBC radio commentary. I’m prepared to pay £20 a year but will be synching the pictures with the radio commentary

Interesting primula seen in Mishmi Hills, Arunachal Pradesh - possible Primula lacerata or Primula longistamina?? Have posted on iNaturalist hoping for an expert opinion from @inaturalist.bsky.social community…
A couple of eastern Himalaya specialities - Ward’s trogon (male & female) and Beautiful nuthatch in the Mishmi Hills

Lunch at a rural homestay near the tropical rain forest reserve where we birded this morning, interesting & delicious - baby potatoes, beans, mashed banana flowers, pickled star fruit, yam, little fish, deep fried curry leaves
Great birding in the Mishmi Hills, despite more than half our time blighted by heavy rain & low cloud. Striated laughing thrush, streak-throated barwing, yellow-browed tit
Spent today up in the Mishmi Hills (2655m or 8711’ asl at the pass) Miserably wet & foggy until midday, but atmospheric, intermittently dry & brighter after so great views of the higher mountains towards eastern Tibet
You should see the rest of them! We have a 4 hour layover in Kolkata later where I’m going to have a go at deleting the worst of them
We were advised to bring cold & wet weather gear, but it’s not really high
Camera, it was a good way off. They are a bit big and scary for scritching!
Yes, it was the focus of the first half of the trip. Tomorrow we move into the extreme eastern end of the Himalayas, will be very different
Not the best views but we did see a tiger this morning, and caught up with her again later for an even less good view! #Pench
Early starts & hot weather have reduced my efforts at posting, here are some random birds from today’s Jeep safaris round #Pench tiger reserve today - common hawk-cuckoo (brain fever bird), white-eyed buzzard, Indian pond heron, juvenile changeable hawk-eagle
I think if anyone is only interested in the big cats they’d be pretty bored a lot of the time but as we’re just as interested in the birds it’s fine. More challenging are the 5am starts & 40°C+ temperatures!
Different big cat today, tricky to see & photograph!
Long but interesting drive to another tiger reserve, Pench. A little surprising there aren’t more accidents but this was a spectacular one, happening only an hour or two before we passed, fortunately the bus was empty. New accommodation pleasant but not as pretty as Bandhavgarh
Never expected to be!
Or even
Excellent accommodation & great food, dinner served outdoors by candlelight Jungle Camp #Bandhavgarh
Finally tigers (& a maelstrom of jeeps manoeuvring for position, like dodgems). First thing a distant single young male, then a close mother with 2 well grown cubs. Most of my photos missed the tail end or have people’s heads or part of a vehicle! #tigers #bandhavgarh
Here you go
No tigers (yet) but lots of birds - red-headed vulture, Indian roller, lesser adjutant stork #india #bandavgarh

Must be another one, this is near Reading. We drive past it on our way to doing bat walks and rescues
Makes me so sad
Definitely!
