To mark #NationalTeaDay we've found an interesting selection of teapot drawings from 'Talking of Tea' by Gervas Huxley, published in 1956 (AS 2815) Illustrations by Acanthus.
Our favourite is definitely the cat-shaped teapot...🐈⬛🫖
Congratulations!

I was fascinated to see the Chappe optical telegraph in last night's episode of The Count of Monte Cristo, @pbs.org . The Count spread false news by drugging the telegraph operator. Think how much mischief he could have done with Internet access.
The series, directed by Bille August, is excellent.
Astonishingly unlike Perugino.
In late spring, we see a low full moon beautifully illuminating an entire landscape. And in the foreground are long, thin older trees encircling an old dirt path that leads down to a shimmering, placid lake…and in the distance, are low, rolling hills lush and green in the springtime moonlight.
‘Moonlight,’ Henri-Joseph Harpignies, circa 1916
#OTD 21 April 1509 Henry VII died at Richmond Palace, likely from tuberculosis. He outlived his wife, Elizabeth of York, who died in 1503, and his eldest son and heir, Arthur, Prince of Wales, in 1502.
Born on this day in 1555, in Bologna, Ludovico Carracci. Cousin of & collaborator with Annibale & Agostino. Here, lovely Annunciation from 1583.
Two men playing chess, with dog, 1590. By Ludovico Carracci, whose birthday we are celebrating today.
