The new Learn and Discover platform launched July 2025

After being made redundant from my role back in October this is a heartening indication of the lasting impacts of my work and an insight for anyone wishing to take on a dynamic powerhouse of a colleague into their leadership team.

Like all content on Learn and Discover all of this years guild awards entries were developed to inform and empower, embolden and include people.

Learn and Discover Supporting lifelong learning in beer, cider, perry and pubs through high-quality learner-focused content, carefully curated from trusted industry voices and our volunteer community.

All of this content is published on @campaignforrealale's Learn and Discover (learn.camra.org.uk), the online learning platform I founded for the campaign in 2020 despite the overwhelming odds against its success presented by the COVID pandemic.

I am delighted to share that my work commissioning content for Learn and Discover has been shortlisted for the 5th time by The @britbeerwriters #awards. 5 fascinating and accessible pieces exploring everything from #diversity, consumer #rights, #advocacy, #travelogue and #history.

Right?! First off is a 5 gallon batch of Braggott for the Solstice break. I’ve never brewed full grain. I have a brewer friend who has kindly calculated what he thinks I’ll need to replicate to the recipe. So after the first batch I’ll do another 1st ever brew without malt extract 🤞

Day 1 of the sparkler themed #tasting. Gravity is clearly ahead yet everyone is different. That’s always a prominent aspect of Discovery Bar tastings. There are no wrong answers, only personal preferences. The Discovery Bar exists to help people hone or figure out what their preferences are.
