Anat Rubin and I co-wrote a story for @calmatters.org about the people behind Sheriff Chad Bianco's "election investigation" -- sovereign citizens, Christian nationalists, and "constitutional sheriffs."

Israeli Defense Minister Katz said he wants to do in Lebanon what was done in Rafah. I've seen firsthand how the Netanyahu government razed Rafah to the ground. No American taxpayer dollars should be used to support this.

A pair of azalea bushes in bright pink blossom frame the door of this 1949/50 house in Baltimore. Some find the pink garish but the bees and I dig it
I love this thread. Same in Baltimore. My house was built in 49/50. Azaleas in a wild, take-no-prisoners pink are also original and their reflected light also turns the living room and dining room pink when they are in bloom. Newly emerging bees bliss out for the duration of the bloom
Remarkable SCOTUS reporting in the NYTimes, which pretty much confirms what observers have always assumed, but still astonishes. (Gift link)

Baltimore judge, hearing the @mayorbmscott.bsky.social administration's case against Inspector General Isabel Mercedes Cumming, appears skeptical. tinyurl.com/62wck64f What if blocking her subpoenas is “perceived as...denying the IG the opportunity to engage in their duties – that’s not a conflict?”

I'm glad you did. 🙏 Climate types and gardeners will recognize what it means. Altadena burned down last year. It will be rebuilt in some fashion but the Altadena where I farmed and gardened and where most of my friends lived, the place of those magnets, is gone. Or, rather, it's a state of mind now
Arborist: "most common fungi in sits. like these in maples are Oyster & Saddleback mushrooms". It'd take a squirrel with a GoPro to get a good shot when the fungi is in bloom. His team re-cabling the tree will be inspecting for damage. Tree's probably fine. Asking b/c dogs on ground ❤️ the remnants

Hello Bluesky fungi community. This fungus, which blooms in spring rains, shrinks with heat and is then ritually kicked out of the limbs of an old silver maple in Baltimore. Blooming location photo below, along with shot of remnants. Can anyone identify it? #fungi #FungiFriends
