Did you catch our Founder on the Hidden 20 Podcast?

She spoke about the process for #Disability #Neurodiversity adjustments & how it lacks common sense.

We created the Genius Finder to make #ReasonableAdjustments and #NeuroInclusion scalable for large companies.

It doesn't have to be difficult!

As kids we are often told that in order to prepare for the "real world" we all have to behave and think the same, but in the real world our differences are so often what make us shine!

Anyone listen to BBC4 about #ADHD meds & waiting times? Some genuinely shocking statistics.
The mainstream narrative about ADHD being a trendy diagnosis has certainly contributed to this problem increasing stigma in the medical professions. Not to mention a persistent lack of funding & resources.

Buffy Summers would have dropped that ring off at Mount Doom and still made it to class on time 😆

Love this question by the way! We will be thinking about it all day now...

🧵5.

We would all be wise to remember that you can't know if someone is disabled based only on what you see. You never know what people are dealing with or how desperate they might feel. Consider this before you dismiss another persons lived experience.

🟣Getting a promotion that increases your workload & moves you away from tasks you know well.

🟣 #Menopause or illness lowering your #SocialBattery & energy levels which in turn affects relationships & available time to do the things you love.

🟣Parenting/caring responsibilities resulting in loss of free time for activities that help you regulate e.g. exercise

🟣Changing from a high stimulation to a low stimulation environment, or vice versa, creating a need to find new, healthy ways to engage, or calm your brain & nervous system.

It is accurate to say that #ADHD is not ALWAYS a disability, but how disabling it is can change at any time based on a multitude of factors.

For example your age, job, family life, & health can all change in a way that suddenly alters the skills you need to cope. Some examples of this are...

It's been a tough year to be an ADHD-er!

The media (& some politicians) have suggested that ADHD-ers are fakers who pursue a diagnosis for the medication, while at the same time an international shortage of ADHD medication & long waiting lists have left so many without any help at all.

When you are prevented from playing to your strengths & measured against people with a totally different skill set it can take a serious toll. This is a common experience for #Neurodivergent people.
