Good (but shocking) to see this research out today that we have supported, linking the housing affordability and the health inequalities crises.

"Being healthy is shaped by the world around us, from the homes we live in to the air we breathe and the money in our pockets." 🟢

Great to hear one of our Parliamentary Champions @neilduncanjordan.bsky.social ask Liz Kendall about the moral case for tackling the social determinants of health. 👇

Any plans to cut them would make the UK's already stark health inequalities even worse.

Here’s what some of our members and supporters have said about the proposed plans to change health & disability benefits. 🧵

Workers can’t get well soon without #SafeSickPay.

Today our coalition gave the ‘Get workers well soon’ card & petition signed by thousands to Number 10 Downing Street & DWP HQ.

To strengthen Statutory Sick Pay the Government must raise the rate & stop plans to reduce sick pay for 300,000 workers.

Investment in UK’s crumbling public services is pro-growth, says pensions minister Exclusive: Torsten Bell defends Labour’s spending plans, saying ‘the status quo is economically and morally bankrupt’

As @torstenbell.bsky.social points out, people realise that ‘My health is affecting everything else in my life’ - including their ability to work. So investment in the building blocks of health is 'pro-growth'. Good to have this perspective inthe Treasury.
