I don't really have fomo being off X despite probably missing out on things. Appreciate those trying to persist on both and trying to bring us together. I do wish there was a little bit of an algorithm here but X wasn't a happy place to learn.

Also trying LinkedIn but tbh just too wordy.

Australia just changed to nitro from triprim as first line. Makes for an interesting read.

How do you convey this nuance?

Maybe just a subset? I'm possibly biased by knowing a couple of people who find this particularly debilitating.

Yes this is deeply concerning to me given how common drtb and comorbid depression are. Needs care - as much for serious rare scenarios such as pancreatitis and optic neuropathy. It's not an easy drug but neither is vanc.

Btw, your Thursday reflection deserves its own mug (which is but). Otherwise I'm just going to print it out and laminate it.

Loving a good smashing pumpkins reference ( I had to explain 90s EDM to my trainer today which was also deeply depressing in its own way noting she hadn't yet been born).

Xennial here. We're just having a festival of staph over here. Luckily they're all helping the SNAP trial answer a few outstanding questions on how to manage.

- beware the septic patient with an initial normal wcc.

Also love this list and the approach.
- find out why the micro was taken. You'll spend as much time explaining what isn't important as what is
- a fever with low platelets, normal wcc and mild raised transaminases is doxycycline deficient until proven otherwise

Getting decent micro.

Everything is a zoonosis! Drawing/listing challenge.
#29 - Iguana

Requested by @catherineberry.bsky.social and inspired by @iuidfellowship.bsky.social

Found an interesting report of Burkholderia pseudommallei abscess in a pet iguana, could that have zoonotic potential?
