La Venta del Batán — Abandoned Berlin La Venta del Batán with its bullpens, bullring and bullfighting school was ordered closed down in 2015. While the bulls were celebrating, matadors haven’t yet given up the fight.

During the dark period between 1933 and 1945, both the Schiller Bastion and the open space in front of it were used as a site for political assemblies and rallies.

Instagram user saying they’d removed one of the Abandoned Berlin pro-Palestinian stickers, and AB’s response saying: “Pro-Palestinian stickers don't stay up for long in Berlin. They're offensive to people who support ethnic cleansing and the erasure of Palestinian life. But it exists. Deal with it.”

From Instagram, a story of someone tagging AB to say they’d removed a pro-Palestinian sticker, and my response to say such stickers don’t survive long in Berlin because they’re offensive to people who support ethnic cleansing.
But I don’t think Instagram is showing the story. It’s also complicit.

The former entrance to a former brewery, abandoned on April Fool’s Day 1994. What were they thinking?

Inside an abandoned brewery after several parties too many. Everything is pretty smashed. No bodies though, they must have been eaten.

Street art of a pig in a police uniform. In Germany the police are known as “bulls” rather than “pigs” but they say it’s a land of equal opportunity. It’s not.

Discarded beer bottle labels bearing the old Bärenquell logo, which actually features a bear, so it’s bearing on more ways than one. Bärenquell means “spring of bears” so I guess we shouldn’t be surprised.

Bärenquell Brauerei was abandoned on April Fool’s Day, 1994 - no joke.

I didn’t post these yesterday because no one would have believed me.
