Ben Ottewell from Gomez played a lovely little festival up in Lincolnshire over the weekend. That man has just the best voice - at some point, he's swallowed a packet of gravel. Great to hear him play some of his stuff alongside Gomez classics. #photography #portrait #music

I was in London yesterday, and it never ceases to amaze me how so many streets in the City are towered over now. #London #photography #architecture

81 years ago today, this British veteran sailed a landing craft of American troops towards Utah Beach for D-Day. Taken on the 75th Anniversary, 6th June 2019, on that very beach. A very sobering moment, I post this every year. #dday #photography #portrait

Stating the obvious, this is called Lost Goggles. Taken down at West Wittering in July 2020, the tide was completely out, but someone had found these pink goggles and hung them over one of the old iron hazard markers which are normally out at sea. #landscapephotography #photography #beach

Kimmeridge Bay Dawn. A little outcrop of the Jurassic Coast, Kimmeridge is famous for its cliffs and fossil finds. In the low tide, you can stand on this rock outcrop, and catch reflections of sky and the folly on the hill. #landscapephotography #photography 24th Nov 2019. 41 secs, f/16 12mm ISO200.

A black and white long exposure of the remains of the old Swanage Pier. Taken in February 2023. ISO64, 33 seconds, f/8 with an Olympus 12-40mm f2.8 lens on an Olympus EM-1 Mkiii camera, with tripod and remote trigger.

The Remains of Swanage Pier. Taken in February 2023. I was never happy with the first attempt, so I went back and did it again. Practice makes perfect... #photography #blackandwhite #longexposure #landscapes

My new print website is up and running, and I hope you love the prints as much as I do. I'd be honoured if you went and had a look.

Hard to believe that precisely a year ago, I was leaning out of a window in the Lake District watching this incredible display of the northern lights, before getting up under 3 hours later to go and walk 40 miles in an ultramarathon! #northernlights #nightsky #photography #lakedistrict #solarstorm

The Causeway. This is the only road to Holy Island (aka, Lindisfarne) in Northumberland, and it's a tidal causeway. Get it wrong, you're in trouble, the tide comes in quickly, there's an emergency shelter if you breakdown, but your car won't be coming back with you! #landscape #photography #england

The Goonhilly Satellite dishes in Cornwall were for decades, the way Britain saw international TV via satellite, including Live Aid. Signals from here were sent via microwave link all the way to the BT Tower in London by line of sight, 200 miles away. Amazing eh? #photography #landscapephotography.

Happy #VEday 80 years ago today. Thank you to those that served to liberate Europe from every nation that took part and remembering those who didn't return to their loved ones. Here's a small tribute from my library. #photography #ww2 #reenactment

Hard to believe this was nearly 5 years ago! The first night of trying to photograph a comet. This is Comet Neowise, dazzling over the Hampshire landscape. 3.15am, 12/07/2020. Cheesefoot Head, Winchester. Noctilucent clouds too! #landscapephotography #nightsky #photography #comet #landscapes #dawn

Tonight, Winchester hosted the incredibly impressive Jeremy Bowen to talk politics, but I spied the very lovely @susiedent.com in the audience behind me. As we left, I couldn’t help but talk about apricity. My favourite word, thanks to Susie. Night made! #winchester #words #fridaynight
