Yesterday we said goodbye to our three outgoing trustees in style, and as we often do at the Welfare Benefits Unit, we said it with cake!

Since we started working from home, we are used to seeing our Advisers Guide in unusual places and it's a valuable resource for welfare advice in lots of locations. However, we think this might be the first time it's supported cake decorating!

Nine million pensioners to receive Winter Fuel Payments this winter Everyone over the State Pension age in England and Wales with an income of, or below, £35,000 a year will benefit from a Winter Fuel Payment this winter.

The government have announced that having introduced means-testing the Winter Fuel Payment last winter, eligibility will be expanded to pensioners with incomes under £35,000 from this winter.
