Saw Bill Irwin's ON BECKETT last night at Shakespeare Theatre Company (mysteriously not on BlueSky). Theater was about 2/3 full, which astonished me. It's an extraordinary show and you should see it if you can — $10 off with the code BECKETT10* www.shakespearetheatre.org/events/on-be...
Challenge accomplished- well done Celia!
Wonderful Giotto bringing back memories of Florence and the Monet is in the Orangerie in Paris?
I’ve seen this exhibition in different combinations over the years - it is brilliant, beautiful and devastating - good to be reminded of it today.

Indeed - and thanks to Liz for the idea - enjoying all the choices!
Really enjoying these selections!
I hadn’t seen this before now and I am completely blown away. Jesse Buckley singing Sinead O’Connor’s Troy. Kindred spirits. Connected to the same well, the same source. Unbelievable performance.
Everyone needs to see this.

On next Wednesday! 🌟
This is such an important book.
Patrick Lonergan has done us a great service in writing down in words the essence of @druidtheatre.bsky.social first 50 years. That which it was, is, and will be, the eternal quest for alchemy borne of the earth far beneath the streets of Galway.
If you’re Belfast based and enjoy translated literature you’d be welcome at “Mexico and Below” our monthly world lit book group. We meet 3rd Wednesday of the month at No Alibis. Upcoming reads on our Instagram page.
Many congratulations Celia - it was indeed a very Happy Day!

Just me and the legendary Comrades Bates and Bird ranting about "Rewriting the Modernist Wife: Beckett, Stein, Toklas, Dumesnil" at the MLA 2026 in Toronto. I am so grateful to @lizbaz.bsky.social for the invitation to be part of such a progressive panel.

Niche UK academia question: does anyone have experience of producing accurate figures of how grants from charities contribute to university finances across a research cycle. The usual 'cost recovery' model produces anomalies. There must be other and more holistic ways of accounting for their value.
Thanks Jackie, great guests and heartwarming to see so many familiar faces in the audience - all there for Seán Rocks.

Two months to the deadline for abstracts for ‘James Joyce in Relation: Gender, Labour, Legacy’. We invite feminist, queer, intersectional & transnational work that rethinks Joyce’s relations with his women contemporaries & interrogates reception, networks & the gendered infrastructures of modernism.
