Miriam specialises in legislation and policy for community growing in NI and she also facilitates community gardening networks and infrastructure, working for Community Garden Support. She has worked for over 20 years in the community growing sector, starting out as a volunteer at Eglantine Community Garden, and in more recent years has been involved in formulating policy and helping to establish a Sustainable Food Partnership in Belfast.

Sophie is the Food Systems Coordinator at Belfast City Council and founder of Act4Food, a global youth-led movement transforming food systems. She has received major international recognition, including the Global Citizen Prize and roles with the EAT Foundation, the UN Scaling Up Nutrition movement, and the UN Food Systems Summit. Featured by Disney and TIME, she continues to inspire global change, recently speaking at the Nobel Peace Prize events and the 2025 EAT Lancet Report launch.
