Looking at some older art from projects that stalled
a fully black and white photo of the steel blast furnaces at bethlehem steel I wanted to do at least one in full B&W and try out tweaking stuff to make it look good without color, something I don't do much
a closeup of the generator hall at bethlehem steel this is pretty similar to the other photo of the hall I took but the closer up vibe feels different so we do it again, this one is desaturated with a little vibrance boost which feels counterproductive but it's got a different vibe to it
a photo looking through a hole in the wall at the backs of the generators in the generator hall at bethlehem steel, the bricks in the foreground are in color but the generator hall is in black and white this one is just for me tbh, i wanted to make it kind of like a portal to a bygone age and B&W felt like the way to do that, even if this place was still operating well in to the color TV era (the 80s) lmfao
a photo of a different side of the steel blast furnace at bethlehem steel this one I did with very vibrant colors compared to the rest to reflect what it actually looks like today, I left the color mostly alone but brought up some of the shadows so you can see the details better in the dark areas
ok i think these are the last ones I'll do, i didn't take a TON of pics but I think i made the ones i did take count :)
doing a little description stuff in the alt for these cuz character limits
A poster, built in Blender, showing the industrial Funicular from the Manga, Akira.
My illustration, Elk Island Light. An orange lighthouse floats on the ocean, at its base, tentacles extend in to the deep.
My illustration, Deep Space Fleet. A page of brightly coloured spaceship sketches.
My illustration, ISO Grid. 16 isometric illustrations of various little buildings. From a sci-fi noodle bar, to a Venetian palazzo.
I'm Rob, an illustrator, designer, and writer from the UK. With a background in graphic design, I now spend my time drawing spaceships, robots, and other strange stuff - either for myself or for indie games and publishers.

Klaus McForkface, a lifting robot developed by German manufacturer Linde AG, performed a stunning 1200-kilogram (2646 lb) overhead lift in Hamburg, beating the human world record by more than 300%
Flying machines.
Red or green?
You know what can go faster then a human? A bus! It can also carry people and cargo from point A to point B. This thing can't do that.
What's the point of a bipedal machine that moves slightly faster then a human?! A hopping frog helicopter has more usability then this.
I find it impressive when Usain Bolt runs fast because he's made if bone and meat. And has trained his body for this performance. But he can also think critically, enjoy beauty, think of his exsistance on a existentialist level.
We got machines that go fast already, whats the point of this?
Even if LLMs have a valid use, I will always question it. Im not a doctor or a resercher. But the stuff i am an expert in. AI has been absolute dog shit. So that's what im going to associate with it.
The average person doesn’t give a fuck if AI has some niche use where it actually excels if used properly. In fact, that is what a tool is *supposed* to do and none of us will have a problem if it is used like that. What we see is AI fucking up real life in a massive way.

My wife has a theory that anyone name "Frank" in a fictional Hollywood production (movie/tv) is ether evil or a buffoon or both. IE based off real people dont count, like Frank Serpico.
Such as:
Frank Drebbon(naked gun), Frank Gallagher(shameless), Frank Booth(blue velvet)

In an apparent mansion, standing in front of a fire in the fireplace, a villain faces the hero whose arm is only seen in foreground. Villain says, “BUT I'VE BEEN RUDE. MY NAME IS—THAT IS, I NOW CALL MYSELF ‘THE POSSESSOR—A BIT FLAMBOYANT, ADMITTEDLY, BUT QUITE FITTING AFTER A FASHION.’
