I recently saw a new doctor who, before saying anything else, asked if I'd considered a GLP-1. "It might help take care of this," she said, and reached over and patted my belly.

It was behavior I hadn't experienced in years--the last huge wave being during the popularization of weight loss surgery.

One of the more depressing aspects of the GLP-1 stuff right now is how utterly inescapable it is. Whatever you're doing, wherever you are, there are people shrinking at alarming rates, and endless discussion of said shrinking. There's seemingly no place to just *rest.*

When someone says „Scientists do not want you to know“ you can dismiss everything from there on. Scientists want you to know. They are desperate that you know. They can’t shut up about what they found out and want you to know.

Take away my pronouns, my passport, my prison cell, my hormones, & my bathroom, I'm still trans. I'm still here. I'm not going anywhere. And tomorrow there will be more like me. I'm not scared, I'm fighting mad. You can't have my life. It's mine. Because we are #WhatTheFutureOfGenderLooksLike

Largely fears over cancel culture among elites are likely motivated by the fact that they truly believe that their status and wealth should shield them from certain moral or ethical standards. Pretending it is anything else is delusional at this point.

ICE Begins Buying ‘Mega’ Warehouse Detention Centers Across US Plans for such centers and jails in nearly two dozen communities have sparked protests over suitability, proximity to homes and schools.

The largest infrastructure projects currently being built in the US appear to be data centers and detention centers. The AI boom has coincided with ICE becoming the most heavily funded government agency. It's hard not to see a connection: This is the architectures of digital fascism

What I have said respecting and against religion, I mean strictly to apply to the slaveholding religion of this land, and with no possible reference to Christianity proper; for, between the Christianity of this land, and the Christianity of Christ, I recognize the widest, possible difference—so wide, that to receive the one as good, pure, and holy, is of necessity to reject the other as bad, corrupt, and wicked. To be the friend of the one, is of necessity to be the enemy of the other. I love the pure, peaceable, and impartial Christianity of Christ: I therefore hate the corrupt, slaveholding, women-whipping, cradle-plundering, partial and hypocritical Christianity of this land. Indeed, I can see no reason, but the most deceitful one, for calling the religion of this land Christianity. I look upon it as the climax of all misnomers, the boldest of all frauds, and the grossest of all libels. Never was there a clearer case of “stealing the livery of the court of heaven to serve the devil in.” I am filled with unutterable loathing when I contemplate the religious pomp and show, together with the horrible inconsistencies, which every where surround me. We have men-stealers for ministers, women-whippers for missionaries, and cradle-plunderers for church members…Here we have religion and robbery the allies of each other—devils dressed in angels’ robes, and hell presenting the semblance of paradise.

This could have been written this morning. How exact and how applicable every word is. "Stealing the livery of the court of heaven to serve the devil in." No better description exists of the blasphemous, murderous, corrupt America of Trump and of ICE.

Ever wondered what were the greatest hits at a monastic disco in the ninth and tenth centuries? Ekkehard of Sankt Gallen has you covered! Move to the rhythm of With a Humble Prayer, listen to the acoustic ballad The Lofty Hope of the World and get carried away by the rock anthem Today We Must Sing!

I know this is small potatoes in the grand scheme of things but these guys are paid with your tax money and have no real job. ICE isn't necessary. They don't get rid of criminals. They just terrorize communities. And THAT'S why they should be abolished. No need for reins. It's not a job!

I grew up with Alex Pretti The kind-hearted ICU nurse shot by ICE agents was my childhood best friend.

"Once in the old neighborhood, when he was seven or eight, he’d fallen off his bike, his helmet splitting cleanly in half like a cantaloupe. He showed the halves to all the neighbor kids as a way to warn them to never ride without one."

ICE Issues Ransom Note Demanding $65 Billion If U.S. Wants To See Minnesota Again WASHINGTON—Claiming the nation’s beloved North Star State was in peril, Immigration and Customs Enforcement issued a ransom note Tuesday that told the United States to pay $65 billion if it ever wante...

“The $65 billion should be placed in an unmarked federal appropriations bill—if it isn’t, that will be the end of your precious Minnesota,” read the note, a handmade letter assembled from magazine clippings and sent with what ICE claimed was the severed finger of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

Fascists are obsessed with aesthetics. It's the bedrock of their appeal to their supporters. Confronting them in ways that make them look weak & absurd is highly effective.

It's ESSENTIAL to make it obvious to everyone that these people are indeed irredeemable losers.

It's often presented as a kind of conformity or groupthink to "trust the experts," but you do in fact need to do this to have a functioning society!

What is the alternative? Every person researches every single issue of public concern themselves?
