The path to treat brain disease or injury could be the 👃 nose. 🧪Research shows delivery of extracellular vehicles from stem cells via a nasal route of administration, reduced signs of dementia; cooling neurological inflammation in mice. Will it pass the sniff test for humans?

Medical schools must continue to teach students about structural barriers to care. The Liaison Committee on Medical Education’s decision to drop a requirement to teach about equity is worrisome. By Uché Blackstock. www.statnews.com/2026/04/15/l... via @statnews.com
Well, when you put it that way. . . 😆
Great flick, really enjoyed it.
It still seems unreal to me that humans will soon be flying back to the moon! They will be returning to Earth at a speed of 40.000 km/h, the fastest ever reentry of a crewed spacecraft.
This remastered video shows a similar reentry from the #Artemis 1 mission back in 2022 at 9x speed. 🔭🧪

Any thoughts on comparison to he Rose Bengal photothrombotic stroke model?
A new magnetic particle mouse model of stroke
Importantly, no craniotomy is required, avoiding a major confounder that causes massive surgery-induced inflammation.

Many and diversely, Olympics just hasn't been one.
Nope. I don't watch so long as there are ruzzians participating, and the IOC doing backflps for them, while also sanctioning Ukrainians for remembering lost athletes. It's the hypocrisy that robs joy.
Fun little paper we published last month got picked up by earth.com. The author got it mostly right. There was no press release so he seemed to go above and beyond and read the paper and some citations in it and used references. Nice work. #scicomm 🧪 www.earth.com/news/antarct...
Good luck!!
Can you expand on weird results? Is reference curve in order? Have you tried adding a small spike to the mid range of a reference to see if it moves it up or down the line? Sorry, don't have specific knowledge of re: sample prep, but working the bugs out of Cayman kits is my jam (pH, salts, protein)

Did you check the pH with a test strip? Lizards and birds can be high in uric acid, might be a compatability range issue. (If so, input NaOH/KOH to tolerance range of assay?)
Researchers discovered a new photoreceptor!
A hybrid rod-like cone is found in some fish species that live at depths of up to 200 m allowing them to see in gloomy water.

What is interesting is that shots are often being delivered (unconsciously or manipulatively) by those who contribute the free intellectual labour.
Have you found yourself aligned in one of the 3 camps? How did you get there? Ever felt that you were criticized for picking a certain journal?

🧪 An interesting 3-way competition continues to take form (& shots at each other) in scientific publishing.
Society, Open Access, & Traditional Publishers.
All are accused of "impact" flaws, inaccessibility, citation gaming, predatory practices, or profiteering from free intellectual labour. 1/2

We’re always told to drink more when we’re sick, but what works best? Turns out the answer is simple. Experts say plain water is king and may even help keep stress hormones in check, per a cited APS Publications JAPPL study. More from Real Simple: https://ow.ly/HWWg50Y7I1L #ISpyPhysiology 🧪
