My goal last year was to read 15 books and I finished 14 (and am currently part way through about 6…) so I consider that a win! 📚 I think my absolute favourites were Slaughterhouse Five and There Are Rivers in the Sky - couldn’t put either of them down and the commentary is 👌
Super important books.

My dad abhors any negative comments about immigrants. Asked him recently why he’s so strong on it: ‘Because we’re always happy to take the rich and clever ones. Which means it’s not about disliking immigrants. It’s about disliking the poor and vulnerable. And that’s a bad human instinct.’

Strongly believe every writer, organisation, creator, social media account, enterprise, etc, should make a clear, public and legally binding statement on the extent of their AI and GenAI usage and policies. Also AI content should be flagged and moderated like sponsored content on social media.

Whistleblower accuses Foreign Office of ‘censoring’ warning of Sudan genocide Exclusive: Analyst claims UK officials deleted alert to threat of genocidal violence by paramilitaries to protect UAE Warnings of a possible “genocide” in Sudan were removed from a UK risk assessment by Foreign Office officials, according to a whistleblower whose testimony raises fresh concern over British failures to act on the atrocities unfolding in the war-ravaged country. The threat analyst said they were prevented from warning that genocide could occur in Darfur by Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) officials in a humanitarian risk assessment collated days after Sudan’s brutal civil war erupted in April 2023. I hope someone draws this wonderful story about Tom Stoppard's Arcadia and the power of the arts to help us see things differently, to the attention of our Education Secretary. Do read it, it will lift your spirits.

Finished There Are Rivers in the Sky by #ElifShafak last month and let me tell you - haven’t been so hooked that I couldn’t even put it in the car by the end of a book for so long. Harrowing. Brilliant. Thought-provoking. Fascinating. Incredibly well-researched. Loved it.

Tackling the cost of living crisis goes hand in hand with tackling the climate crisis.

We need food security, insulated homes, and cheap renewable energy.
