"Yes, please!" - Europeans want more renewables.
Polling across 6 EU countries shows 60% support maintaining or accelerating the rollout.
There is no public mandate to roll back the EU climate agenda; the public is calling to go further โฉโฉโฉ

A new Environmental Investigation Agency report exposes a growing black market in highly polluting refrigerant gases (harmful greenhouse gases).
This illicit trade poses a serious threat to both climate action and fair markets in Europe.

During the meeting in Brussels, #PFAS frontline communities tried - in vain - to share firsthand with @vonderleyen.ec.europa.eu how #foreverchemicals are impacting their lives.
A banner outside @ec.europa.eu read: โVDL meets poisoners, ignores us.โ

Citizens severely affected by #PFAS across #Europe joined us in Brussels last March for a meeting described by @lemonde.fr @stephanehorel.bsky.social as a โhistoric moment in the fight for a PFAS ban.โ
The goal? To unite forces and push for an EU-wide PFAS ban.

The risk isnโt that SMRs fail. Itโs that we waste billions chasing a fairy tale instead of investing in solutions that actually work right now.
Europe doesnโt need nuclear bedtime stories.
It needs action to replace fossil fuels: energy-saving measures, electrification, renewables, grids, storage.
Any opportunity seems like a good one for the nuclear lobby to pitch small nuclear (SMRs) as the solution to everything.
The reality:
โ ๏ธ No commercial projects in Europe
โ ๏ธ Decades away from scale
โ ๏ธ Cost overruns & delays
โ ๏ธ Waste & safety issues remain
โ ๏ธ Not fit for flexible, renewables-based systems
Tiny nuclear reactors? ๐ฆ
Not a solution. Not today. Not tomorrow. Not at scale.
Weโve said it clearly to @deutschewelle.dw.com: pouring public money into new nuclear is a costly distraction. Meanwhile, wind, solar, heat pumps, and storage are already cutting bills and reducing fossil imports today

EU waste laws present a unique opportunity to hold producers accountable via Extended Producer Responsibility schemes that truly support textile reuse in the EU and beyond

They distort science, market like tobacco, and block policies that protect our health.
Itโs time for Europe's policymakers to act in the interest of peopleโs health - not corporate elites.

The excuses have run out. The EU and our governments must:
๐ฏset and enforce mandatory #waste prevention targets to prioritise reduction, reuse and #repair
๐ธuse Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes to hold producers accountable - otherwise, citizens will keep footing the bill.
If you stumbled over trash bags in #Brussels, or took a iconic selfie with them like Mick Jagger, we see you: Belgium recorded the worst increase in #waste generation, followed by Czechia and Austria.
Meanwhile, the Netherlands, Denmark and Finland are proving it's possible to do better.

๐ง EU backs new water pollution rules๐
Action on PFAS, pesticides & pharma pollution is long overdue.
But delays until 2039 (!) and new loopholes risk slowing progress...
Worse, plans to weaken vital water laws could open the door to even more pollution!

Why this matters ๐
Petro-states are actively trying to keep Europe dependent.
At home, attacks on green policies by far right and lobbies are growing.
And people are struggling with the cost of living.
Home decarbonisation is one of the few solutions that can deliver real, visible benefits.
There is no one-size-fits-all solution for every house in Europe; and that is precisely the point.
A flat in Berlin, a home in Lisbon, a farmhouse in Slovakiaโฆ
they wonโt need the same fossil-free setup.
But today, support is fragmented, uncoordinated, and hard to navigate. The EU can fix this!
