And I don’t think we can underestimate the pernicious evil of “trans identified person”. The right have *already* started called us “gay identified”. That’s exactly how identities get negated, how rights are lost. They’re playing into the right wing playbook out of sheer, blind hate.

Kezia Dugdale can’t stay as the new head of @stonewalluk.bsky.social if they want to retain any credibility at all with the community that gave them their name.

A piece from Focus On The Family called "Interacting With A Gay-Identified Friend".

One of the most nauseating things is how they keep claiming their views have been misrepresented despite their rhetoric becoming ever more extreme. In that piece she can't even say "trans people", she has to say "trans-identified people: the GC version of the Christian Right's "gay-identified".

And if you are substituting for Melanie Phillips, then why on earth would we take a single thing you say about feminism seriously?

Amazing that it’s always the same three transphobic columnists, over and over and over again. Here, we have the lesbian JD Vance rewriting a history she was never part of.

To correct the record:
The gay rights movement I was a part of in the 1980s and 90s was not aiming for ‘toleration’.
Mere acceptance was not enough.
How would that help the isolated queer kid?
No. We wanted that child to know they would be loved and celebrated just as they were.

Is it really another “return” for Alan Partridge if he never actually goes away?

Sometimes, there is literally no better food on earth than a McDonald’s hash brown.

And once and for all, why must the disintegrating rights of a minority in this country always be filtered through the bigotry of one woman outside that community? “Are Black people being failed by the justice system? The Guardian asks a racist…”

And this article also calls Stonewall’s positions on trans rights “militant” with zero proof, just the transphobic view of the journalist. Dugdale’s approach isn’t unexpected BUT WE WILL NEVER BE “NICE” ENOUGH FOR PEOPLE WHO HATE IS. It doesn’t work, it has never worked.

Dugdale even pulls out that old crap of “she was treated so badly online”. Yeah, and so is every single trans person and their supporters. You should see the things I’ve been called just for wishing trans people a safe existence. Why does one billionaire lady’s feelings trump everyone else’s?

“We need to be kinder to the people who wish for our extermination” is a position.

A genuinely fantastic book that lives up to its mighty predecessor trilogy. I particularly loved how Todd and Viola are written as parents with their aging feeling very natural and real. Also, Max and Ben are great new protagonists. Thank you @patricknessbooks.bsky.social

Why I’m one of 100,000 women who’ve signed a petition in support of trans people Those of us who remember Section 28 don’t want to see its warped logic inflicted on another community, writes Kat Brown – and using my safety as an excuse to discriminate against trans people has got ...

We all know that the threat to women is not coming from the trans community – by me for The Independent
