I feel like storage facilities should be required by zoning to cover their rooftops with solar panels that directly & freely feed into the grid.

Wow. Driving on the highways in and around Philly is not for the faint of heart.

It’s so weird going from being the kid at the punk rock show to being the parent picking up the kid at the punk rock show.

I’m 49-years-old and I’m either freezing cold or drenched in sweat at any given moment.

Found this on my front porch the other day. Image search says it’s an opossum.

I watched Boots last week & it really underscored how much of my dad’s parenting style was influenced by the drill instructors at Parris Island. 😬

BTW, y’all are so cute and I love the pics. That last one should be framed and hung on the wall. 🖤

Had a several hrs long convo w my 16yo son re: Gen Z humor, which naturally overlaps with that of Gen Alpha. It should be studied. It’s complex & so informed by online culture & a relatively bleak sense of the future (and present). I don’t think a lot of olds get it. These are smart kids.

It’s that time of year when I don’t know what time of year it is.

Some of us have to walk around with blood spilling out of us (while acting like it’s not spilling out of us) in a world full of joshes and ryans and I’m so ready to not be one of those people anymore. Thirty-nine years of bleeding is too many years.

I wonder what my life would be like if I grew up in a dancing family.

One of my favorite things in the whole world is when my dog wakes up and follows me to the other room just to go back to sleep in the same room as me. 🥹

Is it normal for birds to be calling and chirping all night? I don’t recall hearing them like I’m hearing them tonight. It sounds like 6am at 12:39am.

A request: Check on your caretaker friends who aren’t able to join functions with family & friends on the smaller holidays, too.

As a caretaker myself, I’ve found the isolation on the lesser holidays particularly emotionally difficult, even when I don’t much care about the holiday itself. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sometimes I’m sad because I know I won’t live long enough to see my trees grow to their full glory.

Have you read THE SHOCK DOCTRINE by Naomi Klein? Because, yeah, it’s shocking. 😮‍💨

I just fucking can't. I cried with colleagues who were so distraught they could barely leave their offices Tues. The grief was so severe for the loss of their careers, their life's work, and the people they could no longer help. 2 decades of my work was terminated. And now 1/5 of it was a mistake?

Applying for SSI for my disabled adult child and watching information change and get deleted in real time while ON THE PHONE with the Social Security administrator. I’m practically quaking with frustration & indignation, with a goodly amount of fear peppered in.

16yo told me they think I’m doing a good job breaking the cycle of intergenerational trauma and I’ve been riding that high all week.
