Watched the Mario Galaxy Movie with my chums last night.

I was never bored and the scenes looked amazing. However, waking up, there's almost nothing memorable to talk about it aside from nitpicks and rants about its pacing, plot and nonexistent character development.

It had a good Fox tho.

It's hard to believe it's been almost half a year since this last photo, but @moskidraws.bsky.social is back in Portugal and has been around for a couple of days! ✨

Post-Hoppers, felt like updating my Pixar List tier list. Recency bias wants me to put it and Inside Out 2 higher, but I'll hold.

Monsters Inc is still king and Lightyear is still the only Pixar film I've watched I don't like.

Watched Project Hail Mary and Hoppers basically back-to-back. They were such a great time, and that darned gecko kept making me think about Pim from Smiling Friends.

Chainsaw Man is over. Although I have conflicted feelings on opposite extremes of the spectrum, seeing an old favorite character again (even if conveniently) cheered me up.

For all the laughs, cries, awe and disgust I've experienced by this series, thank you, Fujimoto.

Placeholder assets in a game should look obnoxiously temporary, so obvious that no one would mistake it for the final asset. In past games we've used the doge dog (rip) as an icon, hot pink versions of characters, our CEO's head, etc.

If you use a temp asset that seems passable, it may stay there.

I've got 24 hours of total play time in Deadlock, and my latest Deadlock drawing already has 12 hours on it.

I'm not sure how that should make me feel.

My heart goes to projects like Concord or Highguard. Regardless of thier outcome, they at least had a semblance of talent and passion, however misdirected and mismanaged.

That Metaverse thing tho? Yeah no, screw that.

On an unrelated Deadlock note, I discarded a comic I was working on because it was taking forever and wasn't so funny.

I instead decided to make a quick funny parody drawing and welp, so much for "quick".

When there's an open, polished version of the game, older fans will have constructed completely different memories than those that will experience Deadlock for the first time in its launch window.

This might be the first time in a decade where I've been invested in a fandom, for good or bad.

Creations from fans, lore drops, things we know, it's all subject to change and be outdated before we know it.

But this is also the prime opportunity for retcons, adding outlandish backgrounds to the characters and shifting their dynamics over and over.

For example, I'm super eager to draw Viscuous or Vyper, yet if I do early fanart of them, an updated redesign of them can drop at any time.

And while unlikely, Valve might even remove characters they don't fill they fit Deadlock in the long term?

It's a leap of faith after another.

Playing Deadlock this early-ish in development is a very unique way to witness how a fandom can develop.

The game's not officially in open beta since it's still super rough around the edges, and basically anything/anyone one likes is subject to heavy changes or outright removals.
