Drake Garganey on the flooded sailing club meadows at Llangorse Lake today. Also 2 Black-tailed Godwit, 1 Ringed & 7 LR Plover. Yesterday 3 Black-necked Grebe, two in full summer plumage, were also at the lake, often out in the middle but very mobile. 3 Scaup, 1m2f, still present. #birdingWales
Lovely couple of days on Skomer Island, thousands of Puffins turned up yesterday but very few around today. Just a single Short-eared Owl hunting into the sunset and a Merlin ranging the west of the island were other highlights.. #BirdingWales

Llangorse Lake is now largely frozen on the whole of the west side and all margins forcing the Smew out into the middle. The Green-winged Teal was with 200+ Teal along the north shore reedbed, it has been in the area of the orange buoy in the second photo - if you can see it! #birdingWales
At Llangorse Lake the Green-winged Teal came out of the northern reedbed with 200+ Teal. Single female-type Scaup still. 41 Pochard and 31 Pintail were good counts for the lake. Also adult Yellow-legged and 62+ Common Gull in the roost. #birdingWales
At Whiteford Point a female type Velvet Scoter, 6 Common Scoter, 1 Slavonian Grebe, 2 GN Diver and 54 Eider all around the lighthouse. Also 19 dark bellied & 1 light bellied Brent Geese, 18 Grey Plover, 53 Ringed Plover, 5 Sanderling and a Knot. Pallid & Marsh Harrier at Llanrhidian #birdingWales
RH Smew still at Llangorse Lake, in reeds in front of hide from 15:30 before moving to the centre of the lake at dusk with the aythya's etc at 16:15. Also two female type Scaup still feeding in their usual area close in to Ty-Mawr Wood to the east of the hide. #birdingwales
