since Godot 4.3, I had this mac comparability problem with a web export, but all I needed to do was re-export with "single threaded" enabled.

Depends on how much you want entities / players to blend in.
I love the classic look of the high-contrast textures, but it'll likely do a number on readability, but that could also be a good thing

a reckless recommendation:

if you want usability: flat.
less decorative detail helps make the important details stand out.

if you want visual appeal: lots of visible buttons looks cool

Actually sick though!

This one I think would make the theme editor more intuitive imo

Absolutely wild to need an AI to change a "0.0" to "1.0"

This is really cool!
Will you be using triplanar materials in the end?
The skewed UV info might be the only problem I can think of.
I don't use Unreal, so I'm unfamiliar with the tools they have for UV data generation, but that might be an easyish fix

I was trying this out and noticed that the context menu takes longer to open every time. Mine now takes upwards of 3 seconds to finish opening ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Glass UI. It's not just distortion though there's also a bit of chromatic shift, grain and rim light.

I did the same thing for similar reasons, and there absolutely are ways to do this!
Having an artist's perspective is extremely important for making useful art tools. The tricky part is maintaining that perspective while also trying to solve the technical and design challenges as a dev.

There's something kinda magical about single page applications imo.
I think we should throw out the rule book and go back to Flash-like websites.

If you don't care about SEO, performance, load-times, and probably a bunch of other things, you COULD just use Godot to make an entire website

This is the same kind "wrong tool for the job" that made me fall in love with JavaScript

My interactive tween guide for Godot is out !

If you have trouble using tweens, adding "Juice" or picking the right transition, it should hopefully help!

The guide is free and will always be ๐Ÿฉต

A screenshot of Affinity's statement about not using user data to train their AI tools

A screenshot of Affinity's statement about not using user data to train their AI tools

I think I should amend this;
the Affinity team might actually have something good here.
I'm not loving the AI angle, but they are quite clear they don't intend to train using their user's data. But Adobe just lies about not training with user data, so I wouldn't be too shocked if Affinity also does.

Thanks! I'll check that out, I very much trust Freya's 3D takes

I've never heard this take before and now I'm wondering what arcane game dev runes I'm missing out on

DoesItPlay Working to ensure games remain accessible now and always!

my bad, you're right. I had the wrong idea of how common it was.
I just found this resource to confirm
www.doesitplay.org
This site only has 11 entries for Switch 2 and none of them appear to be GKC

5 months ago 0 0 0 0

It sounds like this isn't always the case.
Since the PS4 and Xbox One, it's more common for game disks to only include part of the game's data, such that you need to download the rest for it to be playable, Effectively doing the same thing as GKC. imo this is a bad practice that's become normalized

downloaders or Installers?
If I understand correctly, I don't think the issue is that you have to install the game, it's that the card isn't physical access to the game data.

I didn't know non-data disks was already common for consoles, but imo that defeats the entire purpose of physical media

Block Game | Ultima/TES meets Minecraft Ultima/Elder Scrolls meets Minecraft voxel sandbox game with building and crafting.

btw conventional games marketing wisdom says block game will never get a lick of press because i'm developing it out in the open and anything that's public knowledge is not news so that means for it to go anywhere it has to have strong word of mouth

so uh, tell your friends? enikofox.com/blockgame
