I wasn’t in the mood for post rock before the show and enjoyed them. Friend saw them in a seated venue a few weeks earlier and said it was super mellow. Maybe they came to wrock when you saw them?
I think for most 90s bands I dared revisiting they were as good as „back then“. 👴🏻
Interesting take. I saw them in Berlin a few days ago and thoroughly enjoyed it but I agree, think they really are less restrained than in 1998. Not too much into the new album. But not a downer neither.
But hey, I feel like the only one who wasn’t into the stereolab. comeback.

I can totally imagine this and even feel the pain from the comfort of my armchair. I saw some really great retro shows quite a few years ago, Sebadoh playing "bakesale", Codeine, but in general it feels somewhat empty and it is a bit like in a changing room of a public bath, right?

I have been stuck in limbo for ... years? ... This year I simply tried to just "call it a day" on one piece of music every week so far while y'all been doing dry January.
Is it good? I don't know, I will probably rework a few of these things into a cassette thing sometime later this year.
