To be fair, neither Game Freak nor TPC were expecting WiWa to be a 2027 release.
(Well, not that it is a bad thing as Game Freak needs all the time they get to polish WiWa, but that did result in unexpected consequences for Horizons' schedule...)

The haphazardness of the next Horizons arc is because Game Freak and TPC did not anticipate that WiWa would be delayed to next year.
If WiWa releases this year, Horizons would have wrapped up this month, but would still be far away from the usual November release.
Also, Canadian sci-fi: Flesh robots fight a totalitarian clone regime and cyber-fascist ultra-capitalists, all while dealing with the remnants of the space Roman Empire, reproducing robots that tried to annihilate said Roman Empire, and more eldritch cosmic horrors. Oh, and Y2K was a thing.
Definitely reeks of Nintendo. Giving a limited edition Switch Lite to the "faithful remake" instead of... the one that's actually developed by Game Freak, speaks volumes about Nintendo's disdain for Legends Arceus for making trading not required for Dex completion.
Between how the anime handled trading and Nintendo enforcing trading as mandatory for Dex completion in mainline Pokemon games, one has to wonder if Game Freak regrets implementing trading in the very first place if Legends Arceus making trading not required for Dex completion is of any indication.
(I should have specified "never accounted" to mean that Nintendo's decision-making for setting the games' release dates is independent from TPC's multimedia schedules, instead of "did not account". Mistake on my part)
Because Nintendo decides the release dates for the games, not TPC that only handles multimedia and merchandising.
So nothing TPC can do if the current Gen anime is unable to wrap up in time before the next Gen game's release date set by Nintendo. (Which was what happened with Journeys to SV)
Speaking of pandemic, Journeys had a broadcasting hiatus during the early months of Covid.
Nintendo did not account for the anime's hiatus when finalizing SV's release date, so Journeys did not wrap up in time before SV releases. That prompted TPC to call for longer development times for the games.
The whole "corporate meddling" excuse falls apart when the Teraleak reveals that Game Freak had been calling for Ash to be replaced for a very long time, while TPC viewed Ash continuously losing every league and being reset every Gen as a non-issue until Kalos League happened.
The disastrous 1993 Mario movie was the reason Nintendo had to put their plans of making multimedia franchises out of its own video games on ice for a long time, and why Nintendo has more direct creative control in the Illumination Mario movies.
Sordward and Shielbert were the closest thing to "bad guys you really want to beat up" among the recent games.
And then there's Volo being... well... Volo.
Lavos?
(Art of my Legends Z-A game's player character Daphne, using her psychic power to telekinetically lift a Poke Ball in the air and summon a hexagon-shaped energy familiar) She arrived at Lumiose in hopes to begin a new life as a Pokemon trainer, only for her to get roped into the Z-A Royale and awakening her psychic power in the process. The young psychic of Team MZ, Daphne's psychic power can heal allies and Pokemon alike, but at the same time capable of unleashing untold destruction onto foes.

Concept art for my Legends Z-A game's player character, Daphne. Her outfit throughout Z-A's main story consists of a black track jacket over white tube top, green pleated miniskirt, green and white sneakers over white socks, and a green headband over her hair. The Mega Ring she had was the same as the ones worn by the protagonists for Z-A. Her post-game/DLC/Gen 10 outfit is the same outfit but with the track jacket removed and her green headband is replaced with a white floral-themed headband that holds her Key Stone after losing her Mega Ring, in addition to the green gloves.

A little reminder to everyone.
Beautiful outfit!
Evening bump
One can imagine the many poses that she had to cycle through to remain her composure as a statue while drunk...

At least Zygarde is not Ultra Necrozma, because Ultra Necrozma's battle is straight out of I Wanna Be the Guy.
Which clearly designed on the basis of "how much bullshit can we put into a boss fight in a mainline Pokemon game to the point the player is forced to cheese it?"
Considering Terapagos itself didn't do much in Indigo Disk either with how Koraidon/Miraidon and Ogerpon got full-fledged stories, and the "Pagogo" form cannot be used in battle in the games, well...
It doesn't help that the anime staff still held onto the outdated Gen 1 view that Psychic is the most OP type and hence out of reach for Ash, in spite of Game Freak continuously nerfing Psychic over time.

Do you think there is a disconnect between the anime staff and Game Freak/TPC on handling Liko?
It feels like Game Freak had high hopes for Liko and wanted her to be a breakout star, but instead the anime staff are desperately trying to create "Ash 2.0" in Roy and Ult.
here's the female protagonist of PokΓ©mon "WiWa"!
