From "Ordinary" by Alex Warren:
"The angels up in the clouds
Are jealous knowin' we found
Something so out of the ordinary"

Every time I hear this lyric I think "did we learn nothing from Edgar Allan Poe? "Annabel Lee" was pretty clear about what happens here!

Awesome, I'll keep an eye out for it!

This is fantastic! Is there a pattern? I think this might be just the things to get me out of my cross stitch slump.

I just finished binding off this pair of socks, which will go off to Pine Ridge this fall.

Hawthorne DK yarn has such pretty colors! And DK socks go so much faster than fingering weight ones.

I've been using StitchPal for years, and I highly recommend it!

Well this sounds amazing- what's it called??

I am completely incapable of cross stitching without using Pattern Keeper these days, so it's all digital, all the time for me.

At least obsessing over numbers gives me something to think about while stitching?

A cross stitch in progress. It's mostly dark brown on the left, with white/tan to the right. A bunch of kumihimo bobbins hanging off the bottom.

51%!
Does anyone else get slightly obsessed with running numbers when cross stitching?

If I do 1% a week, I'll be done in less than a year. That's 859 stitches a week, so 123 stitches a day... Totally doable! Assuming I don't get distracted...

I just wanted to say that I've really enjoyed watching this come along whenever it's popped up on my feed. Berners are one of my favorite breeds, and this piece is really lovely.

Two tapered rectangular pieces of knit fabric on a wooden surface. The pieces are an orange tonal. They're rolling on the edges, because stockinette stitch be that way.

My crafting bestie and I are making a cardigan together. She crocheted the granny square body, and I knit these sleeves on my machine.

Another reminder of how much I love the colors of Malabrigo Rios β™₯️

You have my sympathies. I'm currently living something similar with Fern, who is 14, and accumulating issues. "Is this the progression of a current issue? A new one? Just stress from a recent vet trip?"

The constant low level stress is the worst!

After watching the ST:TNG episode "Inner Light," one of the greatest, most memorable episodes of Trek ever, my uncle announced to the room that he preferred episodes with more space battles.

I remember this, 30+ years later, because even as a young teenager, I thought this was a pretty dumb take.

A cross stitch in progress. Dark brown, and the middle is lighter browns/tan. There are several bobbins hanging off of it, and a small magnetic turtle holding a needle.

50%! And it only took 26 months! Does that make this project officially a toddler? πŸ€”

I'm sticking with Royal Rows for my stitching method, and I've gone back to using a q-snap (the scroll frame just didn't click with me).

(Sorry for breaking your explicit "no other options" request. I just know not everybody knows about them, and I initially ignored them because the name made me think it was a less-than-reputable company.)

Have you checked if GoNetSpeed is in your area? They're in what I believe is your city (given your username), but not everywhere. We're next door, have had them for years, and I can't recommend them highly enough.

Otherwise, Comcast was way better for us than the wildly incompetent Frontier.

Fancy! It already looks really great, and I can't wait to see it blocked!

I love the little design down the side- is that a cable? Or lace?

Why is this so true?? I currently have two finished, framed pieces sitting on my desk, waiting to be hung. I don't want to think about how many months they've been there πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

I've had this pattern (Fairy Dust, by Dani Sunshine) in my queue forever, and I finally decided this purple Rowan Felted Tweed was the perfect yarn for it.

I'm trying to get one more shipment of warm baby things out to Pine Ridge before spring!

Relatable. I think of this picture every single day that I go for a walk.

Exciting! Even if it's not wide enough, you could do the front and back separate, and then just seam the sides? Still way faster than hand knitting it all!

I love that style sweater! I've heard of people knitting the yokes by hand, then doing the body and sleeves on a machine. I have a WIP that I'm pretending I'll do that with, but it's been languishing for a few years now.

I send my items to Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, through the Friends of Pine Ridge Ravelry group. One of the things they'd like are baby layettes, so I'm enjoying knitting itty-bitty things right now 😊

It's a great little machine, and as most of my knitting is for charity, I appreciate being able to use DK and worsted weight hand knitting yarn with it. I just wish I could knit in the round. (Although my seaming skills have definitely seen an improvement through all the practice they're getting!)

That's interesting that it's more sensitive. I know my machine can't take a ribber, so I've done almost no research on them. I know my limits, and learning all the cool things you can do with one would probably be beyond mine πŸ˜†

Fancy! Is that what the maker space had?

I have a basic little lk150, and all the buttons on an electronic machine are very intimidating to me. I'm very jealous of you having a ribber, though!
