To The Contrary | Olympic Ban on Trans Women: Fair Play or Flawed Science? | Season 35 Olympic trans ban debated: fairness, science, and the future of women’s sports.

So I did this debate on To the Contrary, an NPR debate show about the new International Olympic Committee rule banning trans women from competing in women's sports. I want to give a trigger warning: my opponent says offensive and hideous things about transwomen.

If Jesus had focused more on kitchen table issues and less on unpopular outcasts like lepers and prostitutes, he might have won more support from white working-class Judeans.

Fiscal Year 2027 Budget Request to Congress

I am shocked to see this language from the NSF.

“The U.S. National Science Foundation's Fiscal Year 2027 Budget Request reflects a strategic alignment of resources in a constrained fiscal environment while eliminating woke and weaponized grant programs that previously funded radical DEI projects.”

I don't think people fully appreciate how apocalyptic things are for US science. I haven't had any new funding since 2024, but I'm still ok since typical grants are for three years. This means next year I will be completely out of funding and will have to fire everyone in the lab. It's not great.

Okay I think it's far enough past the original broadcast to say, no it's not surprising but it still drives me nuts that Nini ended up in the bottom because Michelle doesn't know what a monarch butterfly caterpillar looks like

I lost my jobs, my kids have measles, I can't afford steak, and gas is $5 a gallon. But at least now there's a statue of Christopher Columbus on the White House grounds.

This is Nathan Cavanaugh, another DOGE staffer explaining how he flagged grants at NEH for "DEI" which would be reviewed for termination. 404 Media has reviewed hours of this footage and we'll have more soon.

Iran being able to disrupt the world economy by closing a small channel feels like the Death Star having an exhaust port you can shoot that makes the whole thing explode

It was always a political appointment. What else could it be? Bari Weiss did not qualify for the job of running CBS News, except ideologically. Her appointment as Editor-in-Chief thus required conflict with the newsroom. Scott Macfarlane, I think, saw all of this, and drew the obvious conculsions.

Videos like this are utterly cathartic.

I want EVERY Dem to throw away decorum and politeness and start YELLING the truth, like Rep. McGovern.

So I'm confused here. The issue for Nancy Mace is that Hillary Clinton had some communication with Howard Lutnick a while ago -- the same Howard Lutnick whom Trump made Commerce Secretary and is standing behind despite his close Epstein ties???

On every important vote that matters, Susan Collins votes with Trump.

Every time her vote could stop something he’s trying to do, she votes with him.

She is a fake moderate with a MAGA voting record.

A vote for Susan Collins is a vote to give Trump more power.
