I’ve been trying to figure out why I’ve been obsessed with the Artemis II mission — more obsessed than I usually am with NASA stuff.
This explains it!

Sachliche Diskussion, anyone?

It'll be 2+ months until we know how many chicks will fledge (73 in 2019). There are currently 95 alive. #conservation #kakapo2026 #birds

Tonight in the ai reading group i was reminded of something that happened in 2006 after I dropped out of college, when I was living in a run-down old house next to jb alberto's in rogers park with a bunch of dudes.
it was, as you can imagine, not clean.

Things that help calm the nervous system, quickly:
- Box breathing (in for 4, hold for 4, out for 4, hold for 4, repeat)
- Immerse your face in cold water (activates mammalian dive reflex)

The world is such a dreadful place.
-- Yes. And I am making lace.
The horrors stare us in the face.
-- It's true. Meanwhile, I'm making lace.
The dark advances. It gathers pace.
-- I squint and keep on making lace.
And we are powerless in every case.
-- And *that* is why I'm making lace.

Intriguing knitted cap of cream-colored wool, worked in a mysterious textured stitch pattern and lined with brown...silk? No, polyester. But let's pretend.
Over on Patreon, the 1851 Travelling Cap Knit-Along wraps up with detailed instructions about giving the cap a silky, woven lining.
The original called for such a lining, which both added warmth and prevented the cap from mussing the hair.

Historians now generally reject the Great Dog theory of history in favor of a pack-centered approach in which individual doggos may exert greater influence than others but are ultimately carried along by the collective agency of lots of puppers.

Wow, das war wirklich nicht aus der Frage ersichtlich. Danke für die Info!
The problems with US government spending priorities are vast and extremely depressing/enraging much of the time. I desperately wish much more was spent on improving people's lives directly, and much less on war. Science spending just isn't really part of that particular equation.
I just learned that ECRI, the independent research group that assesses safety and risk issues in healthcare, has elevated "AI" in diagnostics as the *number one risk* to patient safety for their 2026 report. home.ecri.org/pages/top-10...
Thx for the info. This would really hit the spot for lunch. Soon!
