I am normally focused on photoreceptor cilia, but this week I worked with an amazing lung epithelial tissue model and I can see the #motilecilia appeal 🀩 so fascinating! Happy #fluorescencefriday everyone!

Early ciliogenesis occurs in CEP290-knockout photoreceptors. BUT our nano-scale ultrastructural analyses discovered alterations in the architecture of ciliary membrane complexes, including the Y-links and ciliary necklace that underlie cilium failure and neurodegeneration later in development.
