Lots of pink blossom on a cherry tree with fallen petals covering the grass underneath.
Pink and purple tulips.
Lots of lovely spring colour at Wimpole today, plus spotted the first swallows of the year in the walled garden. #TinyJoys

We know the bits we know. I'm rubbish on the West Country and most of the south coast!
Fair.
I think the proper explanation for the East Anglia thing is that Lincs isn't because it's north of the Wash.
Lincolnshire is an oddity tbh. In TV terms it goes with Yorkshire but it's so flat and east that it ought to be East Anglia.
The other Bennet sister by Janice Hadlow (BBC tie-in edition)
Enough Waterstones points for a free book. #TinyJoys
You'd think, wouldn't you...?
I have sorted out so many little niggles with my website this week. #TinyJoys
In theory a block editor is a good idea because it gives you more flexibility but the WP one is terribly clunky.
All the best for the next chapter which I hope is much happier.
Over the last couple of days I've been giving my website a small make over (new font and colour tweaks)
More importantly, I've put some of my personality back into it. It's not perfect but it feels much less corporate and much more like it belongs to me now.

The Telegraph Solar power threatens to overwhelm electricity grid Operator at risk of paying households to consume excess supply for the first time, warn energy chiefs
Well done to the Telegraph for making this look like a bad news story.
'warn energy chiefs' Well, they would, wouldn't they?
WordPress has become progressively less intuitive and user friendly. Very annoying.
My latest blog post looks at how my creative writing and charity comms work feed into each other.

I think it's been a weirdly cathartic show for those of us who were bookish teenagers watching P&P in 1995, desperately wanting to be Lizzy but fearing we were Mary. Turns out that was OK.
So, did we all spend the last 15 minutes of The Other Bennet Sister sobbing, or was that just me?
Therapeutic duckling for you.
A cute figurine of a bear made from amber. It looks like a gummy bear
A figurine of a hippo with a hole in his back and a loop of gold going through the hole. The figurine is made of a transparent glassy material. Rock crystal, perhaps. It looks not unlike a Foxe's glacier mint.
A carved bust of a bearded man in a brown material, against a red background. If you told us it was carved from chocolate, we wouldn't argue.
A figurine of a hippo in a green material (nephrite, apparently, whatever that is). It looks like it could be a wine gum, but one of the green ones that no one really likes.
Today we will be mainly posting pictures of artefacts that look like sweets. 🍬🍫
Bedknob and broomstick by Mary Norton.
A nostalgic treat for the weekend, inspired by @bookwormjan.bsky.social who posted about it recently.

This morning's task is defrosting the freezer. It's all glamour here.
(At some point I will learn that this job would be less tiresome if I did it more regularly but today is not that day)
Important new advice on helping our beloved garden birds. We’ve likely noticed distressing signs of disease & increasing absences, & must put the birds first. There’s real opportunity here to garden better & watch them more naturally as we feed seasonally, & safely… bravo @rspb.bsky.social
Kickstarting communications. Helping you by providing practical advice in the early days of a project.
Sharpening social media copy. Helping you improve your copywriting skills in a way that's tailored to your organisation.
I've developed two fixed price packages to sit alongside my existing offer. They're aimed at small not-for-profits with very limited budgets as a way into accessing comms support for their charity or community group.

It is far too nice a day to be stuck in an argument with the printer 😬
How many of us are allowed Micah 6:8?
Life goals.
I can't even begin to figure out the logic at play there!
*blinks* I can imagine groups trying it on the other way about (i.e. can we have cheap rates because we are religious) but that way round is bizarre.
