Sometimes fic research involves riding to a place in #LOTRO and taking a million screenshots so you can better describe it later π€£

The Elves [of Eregion] received [Sauron] gladly, and few among them hearkened to the messengers from Lindon bidding them beware; for Sauron took to himself the name of Annatar, the Lord of Gifts...
[Unfinished Tales]
My take has always been she was charmed by Gimli and thought him deserving of the gift he requested of her or she wouldn't have given it.
I also like to think some tiny corner of her mind was also thinking "Suck it, Feanor" in that moment. But that's just me lol.
Finished Attack on Titan just in time to take my son to the AoT: Beyond the Walls tour!
Just finished Attack on Titan with my son. I think I'm processing it all in healthy ways. π
Season 2, episodes 1&2 in theaters was so good. I am wondering if Amazon will do screenings for the next season as well.
I mean correlation doesn't prove causation, buuuut it probably wouldn't hurt for you to continue to do so.
For science, of course.
That's another reason I appreciated 3 as well. It was a good chance for Reymi to develop a bit more. I'm sure to a degree he'll always be seeking his parents approval but there's value in developing positive relationships with those who ARE present and there for you.
Sorry you felt that way about ep 3. My daughter and I thought it was fun. Glad you liked ep 4 though.
Got the three day weekend off from work so that I could take the kids to go see the LotR trilogy in theaters! Their first time seeing it on the big screen and my first time in over 20 years now.
Okay, today seems to be a good day to remind myself (and all of you) that if you have a great conversation with someone about Tolkien's books, and/or the films, and that pivots into hating on Rings of Power, it's perfectly okay to block without engaging
We don't owe trolls and haters a reply
I feel the same! The fanboys are being terribly toxic over it, so it's nice to see people enjoying it and giving it a chance.

βAbout their origins, at any rate, I know more than hobbits do themselves.'
[Gandalf, The Fellowship of the Ring]
I think of how warmly the relationship between Gandalf and Galadriel is depicted at times and I wonder if he saw her before she left Valinor. But as he walked about unseen she likely wouldn't remember him, and it's possible in his current embodied form he doesn't remember her from that time either.
Oooh nice catch! So how did you end up liking the show?
I love that shot of Elrond. It's like he's looking out at the valley already planning in his head all the home improvements he intends to do.
So I may not have been in love with the marketing for Starfleet Academy but after watching the first two episodes, I actually liked it and am looking forward to seeing what they do with it!
Them: "The Federation would never let people starve!!!!"
Me: *stares at you in Tarsus IV massacre*

TROP Season 3 please give us more of this beautiful Elf.
Gorgeous. No notes. #TROPRewatch
This is the face of a man that would totally be like, "'Noble Woman?' 'Man-maiden?!' No, no...my wife will be called "Maiden crowned with gleaming hair."
Thank you!!! π« I'm glad to report today is turning out to be better than yesterday so far!
Yesterday's Doomsday teaser πππ
I would reshare this with a reaction of my own but honestly, Halbrand in that picture IS exactly how I felt for much of this day.
I will be at work but I know what I will be doing while on break! π
SAME. I have been doing a reread of the Silmarillion plus dabbling a bit here and there into Unfinished Tales. It just made me appreciate all the things they got right, in spirit if nothing else.
Itβs so silly how most the concepts, character choices, etc that haters strongly disagree with in trop are actually things that take direct inspiration from the books themselves. And for me, the more I go back to the books the more I appreciate the show even more
