In typical fashion, I couldn’t help myself and looked at the data from the first three participants in our new taVNS optimization study. The data fall exactly as I expected.

I know, I know, WAY. TOO. SOON…but still kinda nice to have some validation of the hypothesis, right?

After many weeks of delays, I’m so relieved and excited to share that we just received NOA on a 2-year DoD project to investigate speech in noise deficits in veterans with TBI, and explore non-invasive vagus nerve stim as an intervention. 🍾🎉

Never thought I’d see the day where I regularly watch c-span…yet here we are.

Trying a flipped classroom in the fall where they watch lectures on their own time and complete assignments in class, so I can verify sources. 🤷‍♀️ I don’t know what else to try.

Interestingly, musical experiences were linked to improved performance. Her findings suggest that deficits in simple pitch discrimination may interfere with complex auditory category learning, contributing to speech sound categorization challenges in dyslexia. See the full paper here:
