Game not entertaining those that are into story-heavy games, does not mean it lacks one completely or that the story serves no purpose. It can give enough backbone that the buffet of gameplay mechanics make sense for that specific audience.

Society needs a dog-pass that is only granted for selected individuals. Dog is a privilege, not a right.
The job of engineers is not to deploy some technology but to build robust, reliable and sustainable (in all meanings of that word) solutions for real world problems based on requirements directly derived from people's needs. Even for an engineer technology comes second at best.
