Quantitative chemical cross-linking of live cells, organelles, or tissues together with mass spectrometry provides a new insight on protein conformational plasticity within organisms, cells, and tissues.
🚨 New dataset alert! 🚨
Congratulations to Mike MacCoss on receiving the Donald F. Hunt Distinguished Contribution in Proteomics Award from US HUPO!

Glad to see our antibody design paper finally out in
@nature.com
(and congrats to lead authors and everyone involved )!
At Xaira we are excited about pushing antibody design further to bind harder targets and make drugs for unmet medical needs.

RIP Alan Marshall, one of the greatest mass spectrometrists ever, and a great human to boot.

The tutorials/demos that are packed with SIMION are a pretty good starting point. They have some examples of the lua code for RF and other time dependent fields. Pretty sure there's a simple quad demo that would be a good starting point for a trap

I met Michelle Heck at the plant pathology dept chili cook off when I was an undergrad and she was looking for a new student to learn to run her TSQ Vantage. Then I met her collaborator Jim Bruce when he gave a talk on campus a few months later and he offered me a summer job as a tech at UW
We had built something conceptually similar using the front lens on an ICR (or adjacent quad segments) in a segmented PCB quad to trap ions between the LIT and ICR cell on our development instrument to improve trapping for short ICR array cells. Nightmarish to optimize timings, very impressive work
Excited to share this new work led by postdoc Brendan Floyd, deep mapping of cell-surface protein interactomes of T and B cells reveals maverick mitochondrial proteins and immune modulatory complexes.

Please RT!
I am a mass spectrometrist only because I was fortunate enough to meet Michelle at a chili cook off in 2014
Hi #TeamMassSpec! #FeMS+ has joined BlueSky! Please share and get the word out so we can build up a base here.
You can install on anything, the software docs have minimum hardware specs but they're pretty light . There is a correct order to install them in - usually foundation, xcal, tune.
Compute goes brrrrr
Last bit of my PhD work, a four-armed cross-linker (Bisby) prepared by SPPS and a real-time ms3 targeting method written in ITCL based on Chad's original ReACT implementation running on our Velos-FTICR with mito samples from long-time collaborator Arianne.

There is a common problem specifically on QE+ interfaced with Waters LCs that causes contact closures from the MS to get fired early that leads to weird things like runs getting closed out early. Can be fixed by configuring the LC to supply cc to the MS instead of vice versa.
The shiny side is only coated if you buy a non-stick foil? Shouldn't matter for normal foil, the shiny side is a manufacturing artifact because only one face touches the roller.
