During the time when neither boats nor vehicles can cross the Moose River helicopters are very important as a means of transporting goods from Moosonee on the mainland to Moose Factory Island. A few years ago there were discussions about using drones but capacity is an issue.

Little Fleure seems to have something irritating her throat. I'll keep an eye on her for a few days to see if it continues or is a one off.

Visiting friends in the New Forest and the Brockenhurst ponies are out and wandering around.
Love that they have free reign and are protected.

One yellow dandelion, surrounded by dead leaves and brown grass. There is a little bit of green in the upper left from the dandelion stems and leaves. April 19, 2026
Saw the first dandelions at the park this weekend. They were spared from the snow that fell on my lawn this morning.

a mother and child, who i do not know, were standing on the frozen lake against the cityscape of Toronto during a snowstorm. I had been waiting for a composition like this to appear, its why I ventured onto the frozen lake. Pic taken Sunday Feb 2 2025.
For #WorldPhotographyDay I'd like to share my favorite image I've taken this year.
#Toronto harbour froze after weeks of negative temps, I decided to do a photo day on the islands in February. A snowstorm started and the cityscape disappeared, but as I ventured out onto the ice, it revealed itself.

A delicate white trillium flower with three petals and a yellow center blooms in the foreground of an old-growth forest. The plant has three broad green leaves beneath the flower. Towering fir trees with thick reddish-brown bark and abundant green moss growth surround the wildflower. The forest floor is rich with organic matter, and delicate fern fronds can be seen both in the immediate foreground and higher up on the tree trunks. Morning light diffuses gently through the thick forest canopy, creating a peaceful, mystical atmosphere.
A trillium unfurls beneath an ancient tree. Its delicate petals echo the quiet strength of the forest that cradles it. πΏ
Ah, this small pocket of serenity...
Take care, everyone π€
