It’s not "normal" to pretend a disease doesn’t exist—or nothing can be done to reduce harm.

Leaving kids, communities, and ourselves exposed isn’t “moving on,” it’s neglect, coerced, morally repugnant, indifference.

If that upsets you, ask yourself: are you an arseolist?

Study links long COVID in kids to worse grades, attention, and social life

Wondering if it will wind up the parent chat group enough to get me booted out if I put the article about long COVID and school grades in there... 👀

If you are receiving treatment cancer, wear a high quality respirator.

If you may be in contact with someone who is in treatment for cancer, wear a respirator.

If you don’t have access to the detailed medical history of the person next to you, wear a respirator.

If you’d like to avoid cancer…

Frontal temporal dementia signs

How many people do you know have developed significant cognitive impairments after one or more #COVID infections?

My uncle, after a single infection during or after a surgery, while in hospital. The infection was asymptomatic and he also has #LongCOVID.

A 65-yo colleague infected 3x.

Immune dysregulation in prolonged Long-COVID: lymphocytes emerge as key mediators of persistent inflammation, exhaustion and cytotoxicity

🚨2 years after COVID, your immune systems still hasn’t recovered(Female/post severe C19/LC)!

➡️Very interesting and eye-opening study from Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre with exceptionally long follow-up and high-resolution( 1.5–2 years). #Leonardi_effect

➡️Study design:
- Single-cell RNA-seq of peripheral blood mononuclear cells from female patients with severe acute COVID-19, sampled at acute phase, 3 months, and 1.5–2 years post-infection,
- Compared Long-COVID (pulmonary/cardiovascular) vs. non-Long-COVID recoverees,
- The all-female design was a deliberate choice to study a higher-risk group where Long-COVID effects were expected to be more pronounced, not an oversight,

COVID can damage the brain stem & leads to "Ondine’s Curse" signs: failures in automatic breathing, dysautonomia, cognitive decline, even death. The brain doesn’t always bounce back. Protect your health. 😷 Jason Gale's report: www.asrn.org/journal-adva...

You can say that again. Feels like you’re in a deadly doom loop every time you’re the only masked person at the hospital or a health facility. (By the way, they’re not going to recover from Covid-19 until they wake up and put on %*^$ing masks. It’s not rocket science.)

A reminder that any analysis of pandemic impacts on kids / education / economy that does not include a serious examination of the effects of #longCOVID is worthless, and one that does not even mention it should be assumed to be deliberately deceptive unless there's a good reason to think otherwise.

If my trusted & reasonable friend said, Hey did you know so-and-so damages your immune system and awakens dormant cancer cells, I think I’d go Wow etc., & then Google it later to confirm or not. Instead my friends seem to leave their bodies & apparently never again consider what I said. #COVID

My wakeup call was when my also-disabled friends replied "I know, but it feels pointless," and were dead from repeated covid infections and Long Covid related health issues ~6 months later. I no longer think it's possible to convince anyone to protect themselves or others, but I'd love to be wrong.

Long Covid Predicted to Cost OECD Economies $135 Billion a Year The pandemic might be over, but new research indicates long Covid is likely to reverberate across OECD economies, costing up to $135 billion a year over the next decade.

A new study predicts that Long Covid will cost OECD economies $135 billion a year, due to people leaving the workforce, lower productivity, and healthcare costs. COVID is not over.

The professor told me
that he recently learned
his continued mask wearing
has earned him a nickname,
apparently students call him:
“the man in the iron mask,”
and when I asked him
how that makes him feel,
he laughed and replied:
“what matters
is I don’t feel sick.”

In the business press
I read that “The pandemic
might be over,
but new research indicates
long Covid
is likely to reverberate
across OECD economies,
costing up to $135 billion
a year over the next decade,”
which really seems to suggest
that the pandemic
is not yet over.

Ran into old friend I'd heard has cancer.

She's refusing radiation and chemo because "it's all from the COVID vaccine", and that mistrust now extends to cancer meds.

I will NEVER forgive public health for downplaying COVID, leaving the goal wide open for all this garbage.
