Am guessing that's out on the peninsula? ๐Ÿ˜Š. (We are feeling almost homesick for Dunedin we very much liked the city)

Food prices in Aotearoa were eye watering so growing stuff is a priority I guess. What can you get to grow in Winter? We had some luck with Mizuna in the cold frame.

We'll pretend that it is still yesterday. Who or What am I? Hint 2: The flowers appear in early spring, often before leaves, in clusters of white or pink. The leaves are oval and serrated with pointed tips. The bark is smooth and reddish-brown with horizontal, papery bands. Answer here later

This does not surprise me our weather is strange and the Met Office often give odd forecasts but your weather is a whole different level and we never quite believed what the weather forecast said although we loved the tradies bit of the app. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I love that you did this. I take snaps of normal stuff and it goes in a yearly photo book. Just ordinary days but I love the memories. Sadly I don't have those old photos.

My mother, wearing spectacles, framed by light coming through the kitchen window, drinking tea from a cup while reading the Liverpool evening newspaper I had just brought home, having started working on it as a trainee reporter.
She failed to notice my first byline, turning as she always did to the BMD column - births, marriages and deaths announcements. These were the lifeblood of local
papers back then, letting the community know of the weft and weave of their community. She was proud that I worked on the paper but had her priorities.
The photograph catches her in a moment of intimate quiet and concentration as my mother catches up with life and death in her own small world.
She has been gone now for 50 years but I can still close my eyes and see her sitting there โ€ฆ even without this treasured photo, taken with a camera that is long gone.

I got a camera of my own in the mid 60s and plagued my parents, taking pictures. Iโ€™m glad I did as I have shots of my Mum doing everyday things like reading the paper while drinking tea in the kitchen.

Peacock with a beautiful blue body and a full display of his tail feathers in green blue and gold on a slab path outside the doors to David Austin Roses.

Just a quick visit to David Austin roses to pick up a rose for a client and this peacock was insistent on giving a magnificent display.

Glad to hear that Tony we are thinking of all the folks we met & hoping the cyclone isn't too bad. It even reached UK news. In another conversation South Sea Vagabonds has arrived & I am enjoying the narrative including him nearly wrecking his friends boat on reefs ๐Ÿ˜ณ thanks for recommending ๐Ÿ˜Š

The #BirdButt theme for #BirdOfTheDay reminded me of my #bird #photo of this American Kestrel who had just nabbed a rodent and landed on the fence right in front of me.
