I read only following people and answers to their posts, not need to limit people with their thoughts.
In Mastodon and real people on X I see no issues with long posts.
I'd prefer to have a better way to filter posts/people I don't like to see anymore. it removes all needs from a characters limit.
I used to like Twitter for it's SMS characters number limit. I thought it's beneficial, but after invention of SMM and other branding ideas, especially with AI, it literally stopped to make any sense anymore.

I remember FreeBSD used to be used for routers and other networking solutions due to more efficient optimizations.
But is there use cases when FreeBSD is still better than Linux?
* FreeBSD, OpenBSD, any bsd kernel-based.

It's a great idea, but a little bit risky, since it's impossible to limit price in case of a some bug or an abuse...
Somehow I cannot get comfortable with cloud functions that charge per call and have no upper limit
Where can I host PDS for ~$2/month?
How Windows felt after MacOS?
I have few words to say...

What the point of making an "experimental" MenuetOS closed source? Especially when KolibriOS exists as an Open Source fork.

I believe fish shell doesn’t get enough attention. I’m really suggest you to try it out.
It can replace oh-my-zsh without or almost without plugins, while providing even better user experience.

This is how people start and end use Linux.
People may not know how to search for an answer. I’d suggest any chatbot today, but It’s important support new people with those question and it’s fun at the same time.
I don’t remember, but I believe I was there…

It would be great if clients would mimic it, in frontend and especially third party ones, like Ice Cubes.

No need to load them on backend, just show me them on frontend , it will be a good enough solution.

It's a well-known issue that was brought a multiple times, but with no solution so far.
If I need to comment something, I need to copy a link to the post and search in on my instance (this specific post will be synchronized).
Given that all of those posts are available on the server to see, why not just load them from another server in my UI?
I understand it's a federated network and pulling all posts can create a performance issues, but from a user's perspective it makes no sense. I need to click "Open original page link" to see the same profile on their instance.
Mastodon is great social network. It feels like the old time twitter or forums with no algorithms and very small and friendly community, but the fact that you can see an answer from a person, open their profile and see 0 posts while a counter above shows 1k posts - it's frustrating.
Ghostty 1.3 is finally here 🎉
I switched from “tip” releases to “stable”.
Would there be a feature that will force me to switch back to a “tip” release cycle?

Tech companies like Google, Amazon, Microsoft can be a military targets 😮
Does it apply only to data centers or offices with personnel as well?

I've tried a lot of different tools to configure a predictable devenv.
Docker, Vagrant, gitpod, github codepsaces and other tools are great, but mise became my main tool.
After a few months of using, I cannot suggest it more: safigo.dev/posts/2026-0...
