#AbsoluteBatman #19 by Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta. Batman is framed for killing a prominent Gothamite. A special task force is created called the Robin Project It’s lead by Slade Wilson with a division of Robins all gunning for Bruce. Also, the Scarecrow arrives in Gotham.
#Venom #257 by Charles Soule and Javier Pina. Torment almost kills Carnage after he kills some innocent bystanders that are not part of “The Spiral”. The spurned symbiote bonds with another that hates Torment as much as Carnage does. In this case, it’s Peter Parker.
#Transformers #31 by Robert Kirkman and Ludo Lullabi. I like and trust Robert Kirkman’s story telling but…”The Matrix of Oppression” “Megatronus”?! Why not call him “Ultraheel Innafaceatron”? When Megatron emerges from the cocoon, I hope he doesn’t transform into a copy of 1984.
#IronMan #4 by Joshua Williamson & Carmen Carnero with Jan Bazaldua. Madam Masque holds genius level people prisoner and tortured them to “force” the next Tony Stark to emerge. Tony, also a prisoner, learns that she may have pushed some people too far. Fixer reveals his project.
#IngloriousXForce #3 by Tim Seeley and Michael Sta. Maria. It turns out the next obstacle X-Force has to face is the former director of Nextwave, Agents of HATE, but he’s dead?! This bonkers story focuses of Boom Boom (she was part of HATE). Funny book that you should be reading!
I just read that Adam Hughes has been diagnosed with Stage 3C Colorectal Cancer. This is an appreciation post of some of the Hughes covers I have in my collection. I hope he has a speedy and successful recovery.
#Knull #4 by Al Ewing, Tom Waltz & Juanan Ramírez. Knull meets The Illuminated, an alternate universe version of Eddie Brock who has a “light” version of the symbiote. Knull needs this symbiote in order to purge his darkness and become transformed. More tongue in cheek action.
#WebOfVenom #1 by Jordan Morris, Luke Ross & Ramon Rosanas. The title of this book is a bit of a misnomer because Venom is not in this book. It does contain a symbiote and the person wearing it knows Peter Parker. This is a fun mystery introducing a new character called Comeback.
#MovieWatch 2026 - Bart Layton’s #Crime101 Chris Hemsworth plays a meticulously planning thief who wants out of the game. He works with Halle Berry for the final score and Barry Keoghan is his rival and reckoning. Solid story with stylistic visuals. Overall very good.
#TheFuryOfFirestorm #1 by Jeff Lemire & Rafael De Latorre. The story starts with Firestorm flying to Bedford, Colorado and uses his powers to molecular transmogrify the town and its people. A great primer about Firestorm and a really surprising start. Best #NextLevel book.
#WorldsFinest #50 by Mark Waid and Dan Mora. Dr. Destiny travels into the Dreamstone to create global insomnia. Batman and Superman with the help of Zantana also travel into the Dreamstone to confront him. Lots of jokes and funny visuals while in the Dreamstone. Great read.
#AmazingSpiderMan #26 by Joe Kelly, Francesco Manna and Ed McGuinness. Carnage and Torment have bonded and have a conversation getting to know each other. Carnage makes a Uzumaki joke that I thought was funny. It also looks like Brock/Venom are never getting back together.
#JSA #18 by Jeff Lemire and Gavin Guidry. Year One concludes. The team fights the Ultrahumanite in his final form (long time fans will know what that looks like). It’s a difficult battle but the JSA win. They officially name themselves the JSA with the iconic table shot.
#GIJoe #ARAH #SSSilentMissions #CrimsonGuard #1 by Gabriel Hardman. The Crimson Guard are the most loyal and deadly of all Cobra troops. The story starts with a new inductee quickly putting his loyalty to the test protecting Cobra Commander from an attack. Great story and art.
#GIJoe #ARAH #327 by Larry Hama and Andrew Krahnke. An all female Joe team travel to Sierra Gordo posing as missionaries to uncover a hidden Terror Drome. This is the start of a multi-part story arc. Great jumping on point for new readers.
#GIJoe #ARAH #SSSilentMission #Baroness #1 by Declan Shalvey and Joëlle Jones. The newest silent issue which are all Cobra oriented. Cobra Commander wants the information Destro is selling. He gets Baroness to infiltrate a gala affair and to assassinate the target. Fantastic art.
#Daredevil #1 by Stephanie Phillips and Lee Garbett. I haven’t read Daredevil in a while but I found this a good jumping on point: we find out that Matt Murdock is currently teaching law to college students and why he is doing it. We are also introduced to a new villain, Whisper.
#IronMan #3 by Joshua Williamson and Carmen Carnero. Iron Man must save MODOK from AIM?! MODOK explains that AIM is in the midst of a civil war and he is the number one target of Madam Masque. With MODOK help he is able to find Masque. Also, who is the new Citizen V?
#Knull #3 by Al Ewing, Tom Waltz and Juanan Ramirez. While trying to answer the question that the band Foreigner asked years ago “I want to know what love is?”, Thanos proceeds to be a pugilist and pound Knull into putty. But Knull was just using the old “rope-a-dope” to win.

#Venom #256 by Al Ewing & Carlos Gómez. Most Spidey fans didn’t like Paul Rabin but Al Ewing really didn’t like him: Paul was constantly belittled by Dylan, he dissolved MJ’s relationship with Paul and had him killed by Torment. Also, the Torment/Carnage combo looks like Doomsday.
#BrutalDark #2 by Chris Condon and Jacob Phillips. Ezra Cain takes the case of the missing husband and speaks with his wife. The clues she provides tie into the missing Anvil case. The mystery deepens and the stakes are raised. Great pacing and art on this book.
#WhiteSky #2 by William Harms and JP Mavinga. My interest is starting to wane on this book. The story mostly focuses on Violet looking for the source of the voice in her head. She finds it but it leads to more questions. I like slow burn stories but this is the slowest.
#WrestleHeist! #4 by Kyle Starks. The team put their plan in action and execute the heist. Sterling Steele’s role in the heist is to distract Buddy Hansen, the man they’re robbing. Buddy is aware of Steele’s heist but is he playing checkers while Steele plays chess?
