A little footage showing how the new HUD (top of the screen) works. I’ve been experimenting with all kinds of ideas, and now I have a massive cleanup ahead.
Not sure if it’s just my imagination, but this track somehow feels more crowded than before.

Huh, the image in the top left gives me the creeps. I once had sleep paralysis with a stranger standing right behind my bedroom window, and this looks very close to how I remember it.

#Devlog 45. Lots of major changes this week, and I’m hesitant to refactor the obsolete parts just yet. Maybe it’s best to push a new version ASAP, then take time to clean up and fix the side effects afterward.

Absolutely. Distancing yourself from the problem is often the best way to actually understand it.
Just add a little random speed, scale, and rotation for the effect, and it's perfect.

After repeated complaints about the messy game start wizard (it wasn't even clear there were multiple tracks), I gave it a complete overhaul. Now it should be much clearer and more consistent.
Seems #UX is one thing you shouldn't get too creative with.

In shared-controller races, it's easy to forget which car belongs to whom, and disco spotlights don't make the colors easy to read.
That's why toy cars have number stickers. And now Hanaa does too.

Not sure what covering my walls with those images would do to my mental health.
My vote goes to 3️⃣. The shopkeeper’s stance makes the image feel welcoming, and I think the shopkeeper is more interesting than the building itself.
Had to choose between game-breaking controller fixes and a purely cosmetic 8mm film effect. So here’s the effect (if BS compression didn't eat it). It's visible everywhere in the editor, which really improves the mood while redesigning the HUD.
