A couple of Sandhill cranes flying. I always enjoy watching these big, ungainly birds flying around, calling as they do, such a distinctive call. I really need to work on my BIF skills.

I am a sucker for dark and moody skies, 2 and 4 are in a dead heat for me.

I call these ‘rabbitbrush among the cactus’. This particular area hosts a veritable sea of cholla and prickly pear cacti and the bit of these blooming rabbitbrush really stood out and caught my eye. A splash of color in the more drab palette of the cacti.
