I'm not thrilled with the idea of a new edition but put the rules and datasheets online for free, might to get me to adopt it. I really don't want to buy a bunch of new books though. Historically, I usually skip every other edition.

I used airbrush to base coat Dark Sun Yellow and then layer on Skulker Yellow. It makes for a nice smooth golden yellow paint job.

These models plus the windriders I'm working on right now are both from that old combat patrol. It is crazy how bad the mold lines are on these older models compared to the newer kits.

I actually went and brought Skulker Yellow by Two Thin Coats today to give that a try.
The attached image is two thin coats of Yriel yellow from an almost empty pot, even with it mixed 3:1 with master medium it was still clumpy and lumpy and killed a lot of details on what is an otherwise great model.

I usually do pretty well with yellow, but conditions have to be right. I've become convinced that once you reach the bottom 1/4 of the pot of yellow or white just toss it. I used Green Stuff World Neptunus Blue Metal Color paint. It is basically the same shade as Hoeth Blue but has a satin finish.

I'm almost out of Yriel Yellow, so I think I'm going to take the opportunity to try Skulker Yellow from Two Thin Coats on my next squad of guardians and see if it is better to work with. I've read a few reviews that say it is.

Oh, but I did use a good amount of medium with the Yriel yellow to prevent coagulation. Like 3 to 1 paint to medium.
For the yellow I basically just followed the directions for painting an Iyanden Wraith Lord on the Citadel app. Nothing fancy.

The third #spacemarine army is mostly assault elements and terminators, so I might turn these into either #SpaceWolves or #BloodAngels. I have 3 or 4 #SpaceWolves upgrade sprues from various kits since 8th edition so they are the leading contender right now.
The #DarkAngles and #Orks are 100% assembled/ painted.
The #Necrons and #Iyanden are about 100% assembled and 75% painted.
#DeathGuard is 50% assembled/painted.
The #ChaosSpaceMarines and #DeathKorps are still unassembled in their boxes.
The third #spacemarine army is 80% assembled and 0% painted.
