Visualizing the charges would be an interesting idea as well, it's very specific though. Let's see what I can do 🙂

Conformational changes, I like that! I already have a work flow for an animation in mind.
I once made a molecular orbital animation. It's not 100% scientifically accurate (it's lacking the probability), but I might be able to work that out.

Uh, I like that suggestions! That’s going straight on my list. Adding some movement will be a bit advanced, but is definitely doable and fun.

🧬Of course, I haven’t forgotten about you biochemists! Importing protein structures is a given. Is there anything else you’ve ever wished for a tutorial on?

🧪Help needed!

I am currently gathering ideas for a new and updated Blender course tailored for chemists. Besides importing molecules into Blender, what topics or features would interest you the most?

Any input is highly appreciated 😊

Oh, indeed, it does! Maybe with a bit of a different lighting it would be even closer.

I love how we collectively agreed that the best way to display protein structures is noodles and dots! If you look closer, you see a tiny Tryptophan saying hi 🤗

Sometimes you just need to render a fun thing to stay sane 🌽🫠

You know, my approach to scientific design is a playful one 😊.
I strongly believe that between data points and precise measurements, there is room for curiosity and imagination. Science may be exact, but design brings warmth, playfulness, and narrative.

I have been experimenting with a lot of different materials for my biomolecules lately, but I always come back to the gummy-worm-style 🐛

At the beginning of 2025 I rebooted Luminous Lab after working in the private sector for a while. Going into 2026 I would like to say Thank You to all of you for your trust. It means a lot to me!

I wish you a great start into 2026 💫 and I'm looking forward to many more projects with you 🫶

As the year winds down, I hope you all get the chance to slow down, spend time with family and loved ones, and enjoy the simple moments. I wish you a warm and peaceful holiday season 💫

What a nice sight to wake up to 😊🌀
The amazing work of @cellarchlab.com, @florentwaltz.bsky.social and their team made it on the cover of @science.org and I had the honor to create the visuals!

I hope you like this ATP (animated title page 😉 you see what I did there?).

We're on the cover of @science.org this week. Awesome work by @florentwaltz.bsky.social. #CryoET is reaching crazy resolutions inside cells, and this is just the beginning. Fantastic interpretation of the proton motive force by @verenaresch.bsky.social. Always a pleasure making #SciArt with you!🧪🧶🧬🌾

New cover design @naturesynthesis.bsky.social

I really had fun visualizing the Turner Lab’s research and am grateful that they let me take a playful approach. We turned one-pot multienzyme cascade reactions into a marble run—perfect for an animated cover!

If you're in need of festive (bio)molecules, here are some ⭐-shaped suggestions

1: A cyanostar
2: PDB 8I6G
3: PDB 6M6G
4: PDB 6Y83

SMILES for the cyanostar are below, so you don't have to draw it by hand (unlike me 😅)

Feel free to add your favorite festive molecule!
