I love how we collectively agreed that the best way to display protein structures is noodles and dots! If you look closer, you see a tiny Tryptophan saying hi 🤗

Throughout December I made 24 BRAND NEW, daily protein renders for #ArtAdventCalendar, developing some new techniques and pipelines. I learnt a lot about #Blender, #MolecularNodes and compositing along the way!

If there is big biotech announcement happening, #MolecularNodes is being used for it. I only had the realisation in the past day, but it's strange to have my software very quickly become the visual face for $100M announcements and massive scientific breakthroughs.

The #MolecularNodes add-on for #Blender is a tool that allows users to import, visualize, and animate #molecularstructures by integrating with Blender's #GeometryNodes. You can install it directly within Blender via the Extensions platform for Blender 4.2 and later. #medical

A protein structure (6B68) that is rendered with dramatic moody lighting. Everything is black but the lights emitted the ligand atoms light up the close surroundings of those ligands. Proteins are shown with a semi-transparent surface and the atoms and cartoon of the protein are partially visible inside of the surface, lit up from the emitted light from the ligands. Everything that is not lit up by the ligands remains black as there is no other light in the scene.
