The Case For Making Earth Day a Religious Holiday Celebrating the world as a living miracle should be more fun and important than it currently is.

time.com/6273684/eart... Never mind climate change or pollution--the issue runs much wider and deeper and calls us to all these and more.

It's time to answer this question.

The First Coconut Grove Planted on Maui in Over 100 Years - Ka Wai Ola The echo of pahu drums under the darkened sky signaled to the 200 volunteers who stood waiting that it was time to begin their work: planting Maui’s first uluniu (coconut grove) in over 100 years.

Hawaiian proverb: “Hahai no ka ua i ka ulu lāʻau. Plant a forest and the rains will come.”

“Share purpose with others & transform the world.”

200 volunteers in one night planted a coconut grove to help bring back the Hawaiian culture of everyday access to coconuts.

Sam Alito has an oil money problem Nearly 30 percent of Alito’s individual stock portfolio is directly tied to fossil fuels.

This should be a bigger story.

A short, thin woman in dark slacks and a light blue jacket, with chin-length brown hair and stooped shoulders, stands behind a podium, her hands clasped on its surface. Behind her, projected on the domed wall, is an enormous photograph of life underwater with a seal. A staffwoman from the Maui Ocean Center holds a mic and hosts the Q&A period

What a thrill—to meet one of my all-time heroes! Sylvia Earle, "Her Deepness," the first woman to walk on the sea floor, the first woman chief scientist at NOAA. Now 92, she is small, with a quiet voice, but what a powerhouse for the sea!

Landscape view of a gentle rising mountain in the far distance, with bright blue water resting calm and peaceful around and in front of it. The mountain is topped with billowing white clouds that look like they might have more rain in them. Green trees and shrubs frame the view in the foreground and along the left side. The sky is vivid blue.

Sunshine after rain.

A light blue nudibranch viewed from above. It has an irregular black stripe on each side and two small black marks on its back. It is covered in white tubercles, some of which have yellow tops. The rhinopores are also yellow. It is crawling over a sandy seabed.

Celebrating the Sea In the middle of a national crisis, I've been working on a website

My brand-new website! To express my love for the sea. I designed a lot of it, and working on it helped me remember to keep my heart open—as open as the vast and rolling sea.

Here’s the behind-the-scenes tour of how the design came to be.

"I believe that tribal culture, philosophy, & knowledge of the natural world are equivalent to W science & religion & I believe they are superior in many ways. We don't produce as many mechanical gimmicks, but we certainly produce better people." —Vine Deloria Jr.

61. The Language of Nonspeaking Beings And what a bougainvillea taught me about how long it can take to step into a kinship world

61. The Language of Nonspeaking Beings

How long does it take to move past the mind-body split of Descartes? In my case, a lifetime.

Some wisdom from mushrooms and from a bougainvillea I knew long ago about stepping toward a world of kinship.

Amy Westervelt says one nation at COP30 brought it:

“The most inspirational action came from…the small but mighty Colombian delegation, the only one whose negotiators and civil society groups were unified in their call for one primary goal: a commitment to phase out fossil fuels.”

As far as I can tell, nothing in the PA letter refutes the evidence presented by ETA or even directly addresses it. And who are you referring to when you say "our" data, please?

59. Did the People Choose This President? Listen now | Statistical analyses of voting data are raising serious red flags

Did Americans really vote for this? I needed to know. So I pored over statistical reports from @electiontruthalliance.org.

Here's what I found: it's worse than I'd heard! Evidence of vote manipulation across multiple states.

We need hand audits!
