The Nathusius' pipistrelle is one UK bat species that is known to migrate long distances across Europe. This makes them vulnerable to habitat loss and other threats across their migration routes.

A corgi snuggles next to her human.

Maris never does this - unless she decides that I need extra snuggles, #CorgiCrew. I have a bad cold and she is next to me on the sofa, nursing me back to health. 👩‍⚕️ ❤️

Pals, our dear #BTPOSSE pal, Mario has gone OTRB 😢
He was one of our oldest friends on here and an early supporter of #terriertuesday and I know his plain-spoken Yorkshire banter will be greatly missed by many of us.
Go well, fella 💔

Stanley Spencer recorded in his 1938 Desk Diary that he began 'Magnolias,' in March of that year. On 5th April 1938, he wrote to his dealer Dudley Tooth saying that the painting was 'as good as anything I have done.'

Photo of wren. Description from ebird: ‘Tiny brown ball of a bird with a gray face, a scaled chest, and a bright orange throat. Like other wren-babblers, often remains well hidden in dense undergrowth. Restricted to the eastern Himalayas, where it inhabits gullies, ravines, and valleys with extensive cover in foothill and montane forests. Song is a loud, bright “witchity-witchity-witchity!’

Next to turn us was Wilma Wren, who was studying how Walter was rummaging for the food for Wendy's surprise party. When Walter spotted her he shouted for her to give him some help because it was nearly time for Wendy to arrive.

Then after several minutes another of the relatives turned up, this time it was Wilma's brother who goes by the name of 'Will-I-Wren' who is famous for his songs 'Wrenalicious, Wren Humps & Wrens Gotta Feeling' which he was going to perform at Wendy's party.

Then it was Wendy Wren, Walters daughters time to turn up (she is Wilma & Wren-I-Am's niece), and yes she is always late to the party, i think she just likes to annoy them all, although she always says she was stuck in traffic and didn't have any signal to send them a Tweet ;-)

Now for #WrensDay and a set from Warnham Nature Reserve near Horsham. There were lots of them around on this visit, giving me plenty of opportunities to capture lots of photos of the loveable birds.

At that ever-popular watering hole, 'The Three Finches', life goes on as normal.
The Great Spotted Woodpecker took his usual place at the bar early in the morning.
But regulars were shocked to see another side of him - he dropped by just now, late afternoon, in a place that was out of character.

Western Small-footed Myotis being held in a blue gloved hand. Bat is blond with a dark face and ears. Mouth is slightly open and he has the look on his face like he can't quite believe you said that. Photo by Jason Headley (taken in the Rosebud River Valley).

This photo of Fidgit 🌈 just popped up on my feed, #CorgiCrew. We had just climbed to the Zealand hut in NH. How she loved to hike! (A.I. identified her in this image as a “German shepherd.” ) 😂😂😂

So it turns out that the corgi in China who helped lead all his frens home is named Dà Pàng, which translates to Big Fat or Big Fatty.
