Guess what … before I went I was perhaps more stressed than I had ever been for any scientific talk… and I left amazed by the interaction with these children, their enthusiasm for science…and their beautiful drawings of xenopus embryos 🐸🔬
Together we tried to understand why the #Xenopus embryo have motile #cilia.
In the second part of the workshop, they played at being researchers and tried to guess the stages of embryos using binocular.
I recently took part in the « Sciences in classroom » outreach program. For an afternoon, I went back to school and led a workshop for children aged 8-11. I introduced them to the profession of researcher and the scientific method. Of course, we discussed my favorite topic #MCC
Thank you all - including of course Olivier Rosnet, Salome Dussert, Virginie Thome, Denis Fortun and Laurent Kodjabachian - for your contributions. Looking forward to pursue our effort together
with Nicolas Brouilly from @ibdm.bsky.social EM plateform we analyses on depth Deuterosome ultrastructure; with Marine Touret we identified CDK7 as a key regulator of MCC alternative cell cycle.
We developed a new cell line that will greatly advance our understanding of #multiciliated cells. With this ressource and thanks to a great collaboration with Jean-Paul Borg, Stéphane Audebert and Luc Camoin we assembled the first MCC proteome;
Super happy to share that our last paper published in @jcb.org is out !
@camboutin.bsky.social, Kodjabachian et al. @ibdm.bsky.social describe an inducible multiciliated cell line well suited for advanced #microscopy and #proteomic approaches. The study provides a detailed proteomic profiling of MCC during their differentiation. rupress.org/jcb/article/...
